What cheap(ish) washing machine would you recommend

Hello

So my washing machine is slowly dying (programmes not always working, heating element gone), we plan to move in the next year or so therefore don't want to spend £££ and live in a small flat (but produce a lot of washing!!)
I see the Samsung ones lool good but don't want to pay more than 250/300 I think as I won't really get use out of it.

Does anyone have a cheap ish one that they love? My old one is a Bosch but they also look more that £300 online, it is/was very good.

This thread is a little old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for washing machine recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best budget washing machines page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

Sorry for late reply op yes there are options for how long or hot you want it to be on the quick wash, on mine the 30 degree wash takes 39 mins, 40 degree is 50 mins and 50 degrees is 55 mins. I usually do the 40 degree one and clothes are always clean.

We have a Beto dishwasher, which was £s less than a similar Miele one. Apparently they’re made by Grundig, who I believe are a German company. I’ll look at Beto when my Samsung washing machine gives up.

We also have relatively recently bought a Beko washing machine. Very impressed. It's got a 10 kg drum (I think) and is so quiet. The quick programme is 29 minutes.

Hi there. You could always buy an ebac of which not only do their range start with a 7kg drum but are well built, quiet and above all made in Britain. They start more than your price range at £429, but crucially they have a sale on upto £100 on selected models with a 0% finance option with a minimum £30 deposit. 7 year warranty also, pretty good value for money for keeping things in your kitchen British.

Another Beko fan! Washer dryer, 9kg wash. Love it. I had Bosch before but I like this one better.

tbh 200-300 is cheap for a washer.
maybe look for a second hand one?

Redcrayons · 28/09/2019 20:30

I’ve got a Zanussi with a 10kg drum which is plenty big enough for all the bedding off my bed and 2 DCs beds.

The only downside is that the cycles take ages. The quick cycle on 40 degrees is 90 minutes.

When my last machine broke my DH got a second hand John Lewis, one from a local Shop - he said it would see us through until we found a new one we liked......3 years on and it is still going strong and one of the best washing machines I have ever had....I will be gutted when it gives up the ghost and would def look at a JL one again!

Super useful bobstersmum thanks!

Thanks for all the other suggestions all, I'm so bad at deciding things quickly need to really get decisive tomorrow!
