Alphabite letters for tea- wtf is this?

Zoflorabore · 25/09/2019 18:15

So dd (8) asked for these recently.

The first time I did her name and her best friend’s name.
Today she is having them and there are no sodding vowels left.

This is her tea tonight. Fish fingers and corn to be added. I’m trying to think of a way to make this relevant but failing dismally!

BLSTYPN and she will notice that the N is slightly burned Grin

eat a bit of the 8 to make an A turn the N to make Z and you get
LAST ZIP Grin

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 25/09/2019 18:29

Blimey your brave posting you feed these to your dc, the superior ones will be out by page 2 saying how disgusting they are and possibly accusing you of neglect.

Spell out BLT (as in the sandwich?)

So sad you have no vowels Sad

Bloomin Lovely Supper Tonight, You Parent Nicely (!)

StealthPolarBear · 25/09/2019 18:33

So not only are you letting your daughter down nutritionally, you're also failing on the vocabulary development front?
I feel sorry for your child.

starfishmummy · 25/09/2019 18:33

Just tell her its Welsh or Gaelic or some other language she doesnt understand

With apologies to Welsh and Gaelic Mumsnetters

starfishmummy · 25/09/2019 18:34

Or code

AdiosAdipose · 25/09/2019 18:34

I do sympathise though... both my kids have 3 vowels in their names so we have never been able to spell them both out!

BertrandRussell · 25/09/2019 18:35

Thought you might like to see some baking dd did last Christmas. Disclaimer. She is grown up!

You need to do what we do- when it's just randoms, make a game- what colour /animal/ etc can you name that begins with xyz

GimmeBread · 25/09/2019 18:35

Harvest the legs off the N and add them to the L to turn it into an E and you have Besty - ta da!

GimmeBread · 25/09/2019 18:37

Oh crap, I just noticed her "besty" isn't dining with her. That would be more
Relevant.

SamBeckett · 25/09/2019 18:37

You have the word sty in the middle , use the L bite off the bottom _ bit , bite that bit in half and put it on top of the L to make a i .
You then have a Pin dry ( then convince dd that needles and pins live in stys Grin )

And of course you have to eat the rest

Zoflorabore · 25/09/2019 18:38

Haha thanks :)

She wasn’t impressed with them at all...

I’m sick and cba with tea. Can’t you tell?

I hadn’t thought of the judgement. Oops. She ate them, I told her it was a place in Wales.

Bertrand

Sooo glad you said she is a grown up haha that’s funny. Bet they tasted even better being naughty words.

BertrandRussell · 25/09/2019 18:44

Grin She was getting something off her chest- but we couldn’t find some of the letter cutters (specifically W). -so she couldn’t make the word she really wanted.......

Mamasaurus82 · 25/09/2019 18:45

StealthPolarBear- that's really judgemental of you. I have struggled to get my DS to enjoy home- made, nutritious food and we have resorted to the occasional novelty potato shape to encourage the act of eating. There could be many reasons for meal choices that you know nothing about, so just stop it!

BertrandRussell · 25/09/2019 18:48

I think Stealth Polar Bear was being funny.....

Pollydocket · 25/09/2019 18:49

I think stealth was being sarcastic!

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 25/09/2019 18:50

Mama I'm pretty sure Stealth was being tongue in cheek Wink

Bert I like your DD. The other year one of our local shops had the most horrifically tasteless so I quite liked them initial mugs and my DD rearranged them so the ones at the front said "WANK". Possibly my proudest parenting moment Grin

PS I made her shuffle them round again bearing in mind younger DC may look at the shelf. I can imagine the fumming"AIBU that DC saw this....." thread Blush

iklboo · 25/09/2019 18:51

Sounds like Stealth was being tongue in cheek and being faux judgey.

Zoflorabore · 25/09/2019 18:52

I totally saw stealth’s post as a joke. Hope so anyway 😬

StealthPolarBear · 25/09/2019 18:52

Yes sorry my attempt at humour sometimes falls a bit flat
That said I have never fed my children alpha bites. Not sure why, they have chips, waffles, etc. I might have to sort that out this weekend. They have short but common letter heavy names, are we likely to be disappointed?

leghairdontcare · 25/09/2019 18:53

With apologies to Welsh and Gaelic Mumsnetters

Y is a vowel in Welsh so you might be on to something.

iklboo · 25/09/2019 18:55

We've spelled all kinds of words for DS. Mainly things like

Bum
Willy
Pants
Blush

Onesailwait · 25/09/2019 18:55

Let me be the first to say it' WHERE IS THE FUCKING PROTEIN '?????. Not sure what the word is but i love a frozen potato side. We are having chicken strips with tater tots& spaghetti hoops, yum!
