How fussy are primark with returns?

I will phone when they are open, but does anyone have any experience?

I bought a few things for DH and the kids and they tried them on at home and kept about two thirds of them.

The others have been sitting in the bag for the last five weeks 🙈 ready to return. I thought it was four weeks and was going to return them today. Shit, the last day was last Saturday 😩

They are perfect with tags. What are my chances?

I think they'll say no.

CupoTeap · 21/09/2019 08:37

Honestly in my one now, not a chance. They used to have a great policy but now no receipt no chance. Haven't tried over the date but I wouldn't hold your breathe.

MustardScreams · 21/09/2019 08:42

No chance. You might as well stick them on gumtree and sell them.

What ever happens, I hope you consider the planet and do not shop there again.

PinkCandle · 21/09/2019 08:48

I have the receipt...

It just says the last day was last Saturday 😩

Mmmm. Am cross with myself.

Thank you though.

I think as long as you have the receipt they will give you a credit note not your money back x

PinkCandle · 21/09/2019 08:49

@brokenladyxx that would be better than nothing! (Especially as the tween has a chum on sleepover and they can get matching hot water bottles or something!)

DragonMamma · 21/09/2019 08:50

Not a chance. I went to the one on Oxford St and I’d lost the receipt and they wouldn’t even do an exchange or give me a credit note.

PinkCandle · 21/09/2019 08:52

@DragonMamma I have the receipt but it's just expired for return by a week.

Floralnomad · 21/09/2019 08:54

They’ve really cracked down on their returns policy after many years of literally exchanging anything / anytime so I’d say you’ve no chance .

commonasmukk · 21/09/2019 08:55

I work on refunds and exchanges unfortunately you need to return within 28 days and have a receipt. They've really toughened up on returns policies

Prowlerneedsajump · 21/09/2019 08:55

I buy most of my clothes used but have bought t shirts and pants in Primark, still wearing them 7/8 years on. It’s all some people can afford.

Soola · 21/09/2019 08:58

High street shops have a quick turn around of mass produced stuff so the things you want to return are unlikely to still be sold in store and as such are ‘old news’ and if they took them back they are unlikely to sell.

Sell them on your local Faceboook page or eBay in bundles.

KUGA · 21/09/2019 09:06

I think you may have left it too late.
But a phone call will sort it .

katewhinesalot · 21/09/2019 09:11

Worth asking for an exchange or credit note. Maybe they'll do it at current price rather than original price.

CupoTeap · 21/09/2019 09:20

@commonasmukk was a real shock first time it happened cause it was such a massive turnaround. Presumably due to profits?

commonasmukk · 21/09/2019 11:29

A massive shock to customers and staff and no pre warning. Rules came in just before I went on maternity leave and have only just returned but things appear to have settled. There was a lot of theft and fraud going on though.

CupoTeap · 22/09/2019 11:01

@commonasmukk makes sense, wonder if it helped with the sizes of the returns queue

PinkCandle · 23/09/2019 11:43

I got a snotty email back again.

They have lost me as a customer for life.

I'll donate the clothes to the local shop and not shop there again. To not even give a credit note for the price the clothes are currently selling at 🤷🏻‍♀️

*charity shop.

Not just any shop 😁

pastyballbag · 23/09/2019 11:46

They’ve lost you as a customer for life because you didn’t read the t&c correctly?

isabellerossignol · 23/09/2019 11:47

But their returns policy is printed on the receipt, so they haven't done anything unreasonable by sticking to it.

Bluntness100 · 23/09/2019 11:50

They've lost you as a customer for life? I'm not sure they would be that bothered op. You had a month to be fair here, the policy was clear and it's not a bad policy, four weeks is ample time.

italianfiat · 23/09/2019 11:50

They have lost me as a customer for life.

Eh? Because they have a 28 day return policy?

PrimeMumister · 23/09/2019 11:52

They don't have to accept the return as you didn't stick the the return policy 🤷🏻‍♀️ they have a deadline for a reason like all shops
