Water seems so boring. Don't want anything with sweetener. Used to use Capri sun until they switched to sweeteners... ideas?

Only water and they're just fine with that. Also no sticky mess if there's ever spillage.

whatthewhatthewhat · 03/09/2019 21:08

@melissasummerfield Nope, it's kinda poison (IMHO)

@whatthewhatthewhat lol ok Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/09/2019 21:11

Does everything have to be scintillating?

Water. It's easy, not sticky, 'free', doesn't rot teeth or affect behaviour and it's a good habit. Fascinating, it ain't but who cares?

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/09/2019 21:12

water - even at 12.

Youngandfree · 03/09/2019 21:12

Water, their school only allows water.

twofournine · 03/09/2019 21:13

One has water the other flavoured water.

Tolleshunt · 03/09/2019 21:13

DD drinks water all day apart from one drink, in which she is allowed diluted fruit juice. If we are out I take the Cawston cartons, which are 50/50 water/juice.

Rather irksomely, they are twice the price of the plain apple/orange mini cartons, but hey-ho!

NationMcKinley · 03/09/2019 21:13

Water. Tanqeray on Fridays

Orpy40 · 03/09/2019 21:14

@whatthewhatthewhat squash is poison? Wtf? Mine have water in their water bottles for during the day and a carton of apple juice in their lunch boxes. Clearly I deserve to be strung up for that 😂

dementedpixie · 03/09/2019 21:14

Kids yazoo is just flavoured milk with no added sugar (as long as you make sure it is the kids version)

saffy1234 · 03/09/2019 21:20

Mine have a low sugar lime cordial its clear like water ,the perfect crime mwahhhahaha

Untamedtoad · 03/09/2019 21:24

Water. I don't allow my kids to have artificial sweeteners either, so at home with breakfast they have a small glass of juice (diluted half and half with water) or "safe" squash, and a glass of milk before bed, but in-between that it's just water. Very occasionally we'll make milkshakes or smoothies, but again they're only allowed this with a meal, not to sip in-between as that's what damages the teeth, and that's why it's most important to stick to water for their school drinks bottle. Fyi Sainsbury's do a range of squash with no sweeteners, it's got the sugar levy applied so double the price of the "normal" squashes unfortunately, but worth it! And "Rocks" is lovely and sweetener free, the blackcurrant is just like Ribena pre ASS (artificial sugar substitute). Asda also do a range of sweetener free squash but they've kept the sugar content below the limit for the sugar tax, so it's not as sweet as other stuff, the apple and cherry is okay. Also the fruit shoots "juiced" are sweetener free, but is basically expensive, diluted fruit juice. Bit of a novelty though when they don't get to have those sorts of drinks often.

eurochick · 03/09/2019 21:25

Water.

Untamedtoad · 03/09/2019 21:25

Also forgot to say... you can order the sweetener free Capri sun from Amazon, for the same sort of price you'd pay in the supermarket anyway 😁. We had some in France and forgot how delicious the tropical ones are so ordered some when we got home!

Soubriquet · 03/09/2019 21:26

I have squash in my dc’s drink.

Originally it was just water, but dd was coming home barely drinking anything so I switched to squash to get her to drink

mangomama91 · 03/09/2019 21:29

If you ever do the egg experiment with liquid to see the effect they have on your teeth then you'll see that actually the sugar free squash damages the egg the most.

I only drink water, my children only drink water. I'd just give them water.

user1493494961 · 03/09/2019 21:31

Water.

Xmasbaby11 · 03/09/2019 21:34

Innocent smoothie usually or water.

whatthewhatthewhat · 03/09/2019 21:47

@Untamedtoad oooh! I'm off to amazon! Ty!

Give your kids carbonated high fructose corn syrup laced with heroin for all I care. I just don't understand why people bother when water is best for them and cheap.

Unless there are sensory/SEN issues.

EmmiJay · 03/09/2019 22:08

Cranberry juice
