Does anyone have any experience of Hotel Cheyanne or any of the other hotels in DLP. Only stayed in Sequoia lodge but it's coming in so expensive that i'm tempted to save a few £'s. Is it a pain getting too and from compared with staying at newport or sequoia? Thinking of feb time. Thanks in advance.

2 Bunk beds plus a double in a Cheyenne room. You do not want a downstairs room at the front where people can walk right past your window.

Free bus from the main building, but you might have to walk to get to that. If you are the park side of the restaurant, you might as well walk all the way.

Livingthedream12345 · 02/09/2019 14:51

Last time we went stayed at Santa Fe. Too far for little DD to walk so used the bus both ways. Room ok. Food ok. Not as nice as Sequoia Lodge though.

wendz86 · 02/09/2019 16:18

We stayed in Santa Fe . Room was nice and comfy enough. Took around 15 mins to walk to park .

we stayed here in June, it was good! lovely walk to the park along a canal which goes past sequioa lodge. I thought sequioa lodge looked darker than Cheyenne. took around 10mins to walk, and we were on the further away side. For a basic hotel, we were impressed. the theme was good, and very child friendly. but it was very hot. we only got the shuttle once, which took about 2mins but preferred the walk in along the canal.

Ratbagcatbag · 02/09/2019 16:22

I've stayed at Newport bay and hotel New York. I preferred New York by a considerable way but the only slight niggle is there is no shallow end in the pool. It's about 6ft all the way I think.
I love the benefit of being able to walk backwards and forwards to the hotel as needed.

duffyluth · 02/09/2019 16:29

I have stayed at Cheyenne. The cramming, pushing and shoving on the bus was the worst part of my holiday. Never again. Apart from that the Hotel is'ok

MrsPatrickDempsey · 02/09/2019 16:33

Do you want to stay on site in a Disney Hotel? I understand the perks of the extra magic hours but the last time we went we stayed near Val d'Europe at the Hipark. Really good value, shuttle bus or an easy 10 min walk past the Newport Bay. Would stay there again. We got park tickets from attraction tickets who are really good.

mummaminnie · 02/09/2019 16:42

We've stayed in the Sequoia and Cheyenne and I preferred Cheyenne. We had a ground floor room at the front of our building and it was fine - I didn't feel like we were in a goldfish bowl. Our building was right at the end though so not many people walking past. Our room also had air conditioning but not something you'll need in February.

We didn't take the bus and thought it was an easy 15 minute walk to the park along the canal. Our DD is a teenager so that makes it easier for us too.

The restaurant is buffet style in the evening and it was fine but nothing special. We had a Starbucks for breakfast as there's one on site. Not cheap!

I'd still stay here again. I stayed at the Santa Fe years ago and wouldn't go back there - it was another level down. Might be better now.

Basically it was fine and for us worth the saving.

I think the New York is closed just now as they're remodelling it on a Marvel theme.

Have fun!

Lindy2 · 02/09/2019 16:47

I've stayed at the Cheyenne and Santa Fe. Both are nice and I'd happily return to either.
It's an easy and pleasant 15 minute walk along the river to and from the park. We mostly walked and only got the shuttle bus if we were very tired.
The rooms are clean and the Cheyenne was recently refurbished so it's quite new looking.
They are both 2 star rather than luxury but as we spent almost all of our time in the parks we literally only used the hotel for sleeping and showering.
Have a great time.

Autumnintheair · 02/09/2019 17:02

Always check annual pass prices agaisnt tickets.. And hotels. Some off site hotels are good value and people say better eg veinna, dream castle, explorers, hi Park etc.

rosie39forever · 02/09/2019 17:27

We've stayed in all of the Disney hotels and for us it's always been worth paying extra for the lake side hotels as it's an easy walk with no cramming onto buses especially with small children so I would definitely stump up the cash.

Nightjar1 · 02/09/2019 17:55

Watching with interest, I'm still looking for a hotel in the Disney area.

PenelopeChipShop · 02/09/2019 18:01

We stayed at Newport bay in August this year and I liked it. I was very cynical going into the trip as I’m not the kind of adult who likes Disney, I did it for the kids! But that hotel is decent, food was good for adults and kids, the pool is nice and it’s a pleasant walk to the park.

GiuseppaC · 02/09/2019 18:35

Hi, we stayed there in March, absolutely perfect spot, literally 5 mins to the park and the bus turn a round was so quick. There's a different character who came to the reception area each morning to see and meet the kids so that was a bonus. There's a Starbucks on site for when you need that extra energy boost, you'll need it! We stayed in the calamity Jane block, the corridors needed a bit of a spruce but the rooms were good. So first impressions were oh no but were relieved when we opened the door.
We loved disneyland Paris that much we are literally going in the morning again and have booked the village de nature, only as the cheyenne was full, it's a little further away but has its own complex to go round with water park and restaurants. Will let you know how it goes when we get back but it looks great there.
So in short, would advise yes to go. Also, check park prices on attractiontix, we just paid child prices for an adult ticket, both parks for one day £60.00 each. Although you do normally get a day or two with your stay it does save you a little. Enjoy!

Paddyodoors · 02/09/2019 18:54

Stayed in Santa Fe last winter when it was bitterly cold with DH and 2 DDs aged 5 and 9. Was cosy and warm, clean and basic. Walk wasn't too bad actually, ten minutes I reckon.

MimsyBorogroves · 02/09/2019 18:58

We did Cheyenne last year. It was lovely (although the beds were very hard!) - no complaints at all.

We walked each morning and evening - with a 10 and 6 year old. No problem there, it was a nice 10 minute stroll.

nina97 · 02/09/2019 20:57

Oh you are all so kind, thankyou.....I've been pricing with magic breaks, although our local flights won't leave us in dlp till late at night so we lose the first day altogether. Is it just me or had dlp gotten sooooo expensive. Xx

Stayed in Cheyenne last year. It was pleasant enough. No problem with buses but we ski and compared to Lift queues it was empty.

GiuseppaC · 02/09/2019 22:53

Yes it has gone expensive, we just paid nearly £1800 for four adults and a child of 3??!! No meals, just transfers, hand luggage and flights. Thats only 4 days and 3 nights. Although in march we paid £300 each and got a half board meal plan all transres flights hold baggage and park passes for full time there. Yeah I know, how can you compare.

ERS25 · 03/09/2019 08:29

I've stayed in a partner hotel, Hôtel Campanile Val de France (used to be Kyrid Hotel) and it was really good. As we didn't spend too much time in the rooms we were that bothered. This time we are staying in Explorers Hotel. And it looks amazing. This is in november. The shuttle busses run all day between Disney and the hotels. And I bought our park tickets separately. It hasn't come to too much. Though we are only staying two nights as it's DDs first time flying. (I went with a group of friends the first time 😁)

Shadowgirl88 · 03/09/2019 11:26

I have just recently got back from disneyland paris where I stayed at the Cheyenne hotel. We stayed in a room close to facilities we were on the ground floor and never heard anyone out side windows. You can walk to the park within 20 mins or There is a bus that leaves every 10mins to the park takes around 3 mins. Which was a few moments walk around the corner from our room. The hotel reception, general store, saloon and dinning (by reservation) again was just a few feet away. We had a room with 2 double beds. It was clean with daily house keeping.

Nightjar1 · 03/09/2019 13:03

I keep reading about bed bugs in the reviews. Yuck! I am considering staying in an apartment (there are 5 of us), near shops etc. and this at the moment seems to be the better option for us. I don't think we would take advantage of the other facilities much - swimming pool etc. I just envisage longs days spent at Disney and then some down time, especially with youngish children. For my older daughter, this might suit because the apartment that I am looking at is situated near to shops/restaurants etc. and she may at least be slightly exposed to the French culture.

Flyingmonkey11 · 03/09/2019 16:58

Hi,
We stayed in Disney land b and b. It was spotless and much cheaper than Disney hotels. Worth looking into. I only went with it after checking the trip advisor reviews. Bus is fine unless you are going back straight after fireworks, in which case it's really busy. Bus transfer takes about 15 minutes and drops you at the railway station at the entrance to the parks. Xx

spoonwoman · 03/09/2019 18:09

We stayed in Davy Crockett Ranch. It was really good (self catering). You do need s car, though.

harly1821 · 04/09/2019 11:34

We stayed at Cheyenne last year and it was great, basic set up and the breakfast was fairly easy and had a great selection. We stayed at Newport bay this year in the compass club which was amazing always worth paying that bit extra. Going to Santa Fe next wednesday and then Davy Crocketts in October for Halloween and then Sequio Lodge in November for Christmas (we have an annual pass, which is great if you plan on going more than once a year) so I will know more about the hotels by the end of this year. If you can get Cheyenne at a reasonable price then go for it in my opinion me my wife and my 7 year old and 1 year old loved it.
