Embarrassing pregnancy related incidents

Did anyone else have any embarrassing shit happen to them when they were pregnant?

The worst incident for me was when I was about 17 weeks. So far I had only been sick once at night and we hadn't told anyone I was pregnant.

We were at my husbands uncle house and they were just chatting in the kitchen. I was in the living room watching who wants to be a millionaire when I had the urge to vomit. Instead of running to the bathroom like a normal person, I thought it would be a good idea to vomit in a half full glass of orange juice.... It wasn't! The glass became full in a second and most of the sick went inside the sleeve of my jumper. I called my husband and both him and his uncle came in and I had to explain what happened.... Both thought I had called them because someone had won the million😂

Another uncle then arrived and they drove us home with me vomiting every ten minutes or so.... which made for a pleasant hour long journey!

I was a police officer on a response team and we were going to an emergency call when I was newly pregnant and hadn't told anyone yet. I had to make my driver stop the car so I could puke in a bin, in full uniform and in full view of the public.

FindaPenny · 19/08/2019 17:42

🤣🤣🤣 Were the public kind enough to look the other way?

No :( the only silver lining was that it happened too fast for someone to film me and put me on YouTube! My poor driver thought it was his bad driving had made me car sick Grin

Mine wasn't so much pregnancy more than birth... I was told I wasn't ready to go to hospital, baby thought otherwise. We had to call an ambulance, I got onto my bed and decided the best way to deal with everything was to be naked anyway paramedics came, 1 woman, 2 men. I gave birth and my first thought articulated to my very white faced hubby was oh my god I'm so sorry 2 men have seen me naked and at my bits, please forgive me, quickly followed by oh no the windows were open, the neighbours will have heard!!! 😂 😂 Funnily enough my husband wasn't concerned about either of these things

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 19/08/2019 19:57

I meant looked at my bitsGrin

I've thrown up pretty much everywhere. An ex's colleague was called to his partner whose waters broke in the middle of boots. Got to the hospital where it was confirmed that her waters didn't break and she went herself in the shop Blush

When i was pregnant with ds2 I had awful sickness for the whole 9 months. I was sick on the street, on the bus etc I used to carry bags with me to be sick into. I found it so embarrassing. People either ignored me or looked disgusted.

Currently 26 weeks pregnant. At 24 weeks the baby decided to give me a big kick in the bladder, which resulted in a squirt of pee coming out. He then decided to do it again, and again and again. Tried to make a dash for it to the toilets but by the time I got there he had finished kicks.

emmaluggs · 20/08/2019 14:18

I was 36 weeks pregnant and was outside my sons nursery when I needed to be sick I was to embarrassed to be sick outside the car, so I grabbed some dog poo bags I keep in the car, but it just kept coming, it was all over the car, my phone and myself and I still had to go in and pick up my son!

Then the birth of my first child I just remember saying’ I need to poo but I don’t want to poo’, and ‘how many more minutes’ I didn’t have any pain relief so I can’t even blame it on that 🤣

The day I left work at 34 weeks, we went out to lunch. On the way back, in the centre of Liverpool, due to the bump I didn't notice a loose paving stone. This tips down and I stub my foot in the gap going forwards and landing (amlost) flat on my face.

the next day we went to look around the bookshops in Hay on Wye - there's me with bump, black eye and I'd had to take my wedding ring off as my fingers had swollen. Got no end of dirty looks Grin

venusandmars · 20/08/2019 16:13

After weeks of throwing up at home, on the bus, at work, I eventually got to a glorious 16 week+ moment when I didn't actually vomit. Mid-morning at work and I felt a bit queasy so I went to sit in the coffee room with a glass of water. Woke up 2 and a half hours later!

I had a really crinkled face from leaning against a cushion. And lots of colleagues had come in and had a look at me. Apparently they thought it was 'sweet' Blush

I have hypersalivation Sad Dribble literally falls out when I talk.

Literally have to keep a flannel tucket into my top like a bib and ci spit into rolls and rolls of tissue every day. I'm too embarrased to go out Blush

Pregnant with dd, 36 weeks and huge! Went out with local RSPCA officer to report of an abandoned dog and pups in a barn. Got to the place and they were in the back of this barn stuffed with old farm machinery. Tried to squeeze down the side of a flat bed trailer and got well and truly stuck! RSPCA bloke had to dismantle the boards of the wall behind me so I could get out! Blush went on mat leave the following week.

Labour related incident - I was a little bit high from the gas and air and the epidural, I needed to pooh so just poohed in the bed. Dh was mortified but I really didn't care 😂 its the kind of thing that would have bothered me when giving birth to my first child but with my second i was more laid back shall we say! shortly after I pushed out an almost 11 pound baby!

Kneeknee · 20/08/2019 18:36

To bring on labour with my firstborn, I had been put on the drip to get things going.

I had no contractions pre drip to horrible painful ones while on the drip and I think the oxytocin was too strong because I was violently sick and at the same time I expelled the loudest most ring ripping fart of all time.

I didn't care in the slightest at the time but remember feeling grateful about the fact I'd pooped about twenty times in privacy, on a toilet prior to the birth.

Widgetsframe · 20/08/2019 18:43

In labour I shouted “I’m coming again” when I had a contraction.....

Backtothenewme · 20/08/2019 18:54

35 weeks pregnant at ante natal clinic. I went to the loo and came back the packed waiting room with my flouncy maternity dress (1980's) tucked in my knickers. My sister tried to pull it out but was laughing so hard she missed (apparently Confused) full pregnant arse packed into polka dot pants on show for all [flowersBlush

loofascrub · 20/08/2019 18:57

@Kneeknee you reminded me of the time during labour when my epidural was kicking in..
I could feel a fart brewing so I desperately tried to clench it in but it snuck out in a very tuneful manner. I then laughed which caused me to toot out the rest of the fart in time.
DH and the midwife were in hysterics with me Grin
Who says labour can't be fun

Mollyboboff · 20/08/2019 19:01

With my first pregancy, my 'morning sickness ' was between 5-5.30 pm when I was walking home from work would throw up in the gutter of almost the same street

Jent13c · 20/08/2019 19:01

Went to collect a patient from recovery with a fellow nurse. She was in a good mood and making jokes and heavy baby on full bladder and no way to cross my legs while moving with a bed I was pretty much dribbling the whole way up to the ward. She found it hilarious and was cracking even more jokes.

hereforasillygoosetime · 20/08/2019 19:02

Two days ago I fully weed myself in the car while DH was driving because he made me laugh. Blush

Nautiloid · 20/08/2019 19:07

I fell over at 17 weeks with twins. Centre of gravity was off I suppose.
It was a fairly spectacular fall at a service station and people LAUGHED. When I stood up and they saw my bump they were mortified!

hereforasillygoosetime · 20/08/2019 19:08

These fart/poo stories are hilarious!

Squeakybubbles26 · 20/08/2019 19:15

@loofascrub literally setting myself laughing reading your comment! Sorry obviously you were embarrassed by this but that's a brilliant story lol x
