It must be an age thing 😱. I keep noticing my face fuzz. How do I get rid of it? Epilating? Threading? Shaving?!

Patriarchy + capitalism

I dunno, I think men generally don't care and that it's women that put the pressure on themselves.

Kubo · 19/08/2019 13:05

Who profits from women’s time, money and energy being spent on each new ridiculous treatment for each new ridiculous flaw that is discovered? It’s not women...

matahairyy · 19/08/2019 15:24

I dunno. All my therapists are self employed women.

Submariner · 19/08/2019 16:44

My DD who sometime scrutinises my face said 'Mummy, your face feels lovely and fluffy.' Aaaagh, why is this happening? Yet more body hair I have to try and get rid of!!!!!!!!!!

No - I think your daughter has the right idea. She was complimenting you on it.

Don't shave your faces people.

Yes yes it's stupid capitalism and Barbie culture and misogyny. Your face looks beautiful with fluff on it.

I use this flawless thingy on my face as I have PCOS so get quite dark hairs. I don't regularly remove the peach fuzz although I have on a few occasions and it worked really well. Very easy to use and completely painless.

I dunno. All my therapists are self employed women.

And who benefits from an industry in which women are self-employed, taking all the financial risk - not getting the protection of being employees - and all the health risks of working with chemicals that aren't fully recorded and analysed for the risk they pose in concentrated exposure?

I buy what are called eyebrow razors from amazon and do my face myself. I’m mid 40s and my skin looks great for it. The regrowth isn’t stubbly at all, it’s not like shaving your legs. I do it once every 3/4 weeks. Make up sits so much better on my face too.

Marilyn Monroe had a heavy peach fuzz “beard” but refused to wax it off, according to Monroe expert Gene London. She said the fuzz gave her face a soft blue in photos, without using special lenses. Instead of seeing your features as imperfections, learn to see the beauty in their uniqueness. Here’s how to stop negative self talk.

And they generally make fuck all money from it. The margins on beauty work are awful. My sister was a mobile beauty therapist. Fully qualified, insured, great at her job and had a steady stream of clients. She made hardly anything from it.

Well both seem to have employed other women and one bought a house. Don’t think men undergo this scrutiny.

TwoShades1 · 20/08/2019 02:41

Honestly dermaplaning. My face looks younger, smoother and slimmer. Makeup application is flawless now. I do it home using the eyebrow razors you can buy on eBay. I just watched a few YouTube tutorials to get an idea of technique.

@TheSandman, the difference between facial hair and peach fuzz, is changes because of age. You start to hit the Menopause and there's changes.

We are old enough and wise enough to decide what we'll accept and what we'll like to change. I've never had facial/arm/finger (wtf!) hair. I don't want it now and it isn't difficult to rectify. Unlike a lot of post Menopausal body changes.

OP, I've started using Superdrugs facial hair removing cream. I've got sensitive skin, so i found shaving etc caused a reaction. I did try various wire rollers and what are described as eyebrow shapers, but they were painful. But i use my electric ladyshave on my arms.

Oblomov19 · 20/08/2019 06:20

I've always had this. Never knew it was called peach fuzz! I do hate it!
