It's the summer holiday season for the Playmobil people in our house...

...and so every day during August I will be bringing you some photos of what the Playmolanders are getting up to this summer.

Holidaymakers are on the ferry to the Isle of Browne

Today Lucy is going on holiday with her parents. Her teddy is with her - Lucy takes Teddy everywhere with her. They are waiting at the bus stop for the bus to take them to the airport, along with some other passengers. The bus arrives, the driver is Giles.

The bus is on its way to the airport.

Giles parks the bus outside the airport and Kate the travel assistant ensures everyone disembarks. Louis helps Lucy down the steps of the bus, while Lisa makes sure they have all their luggage.

Louis, Lisa and Lucy (and Teddy) go to the check-in desk, where Deborah checks them in for their flight.

I used to love the Playmobil park.

At security, Diana asks the family to place their hand luggage on the conveyor belt for scanning. Lucy puts Teddy on with the bags.

Now Lisa has her body scanned. Lucy is hoping that Teddy gets through the scanner ok.

This is amazing. My five-year-old daughter and I have scrolled through every one and have been transfixed! (And I've definitely been over invested in the storylines!) She played with my old sets when we went to my mum's house, but is now keen on LOTS more!! (And also: wants to make real life swimming pool with real life water for her existing people!)

At the airport there's a viewing gallery. Lucy looks through the telescope.

The family enjoy a drink in the airport café while they wait to board their plane.

It's time to board the plane. Sandra the flight attendant welcomes them on board. Zach is driving the baggage cart and is about to load the luggage.

I love how even the bit players have their own names!

Wombleish, everyone has a name in Playmoland!

i think we can assume that Shona and Duguld are enjoying themselves

I have grandchildren of relevant age, but they don't live near me. Maybe I need playmobil just in case they unexpectedly visit?

I am very nervous in case Lucy loses Teddy. Then I would have to go back through all the photos to find out when he was last seen.

We once lost Norman the Foreman when ds left him on the floor of the holiday cottage in Dorset. It was a tense couple of days while we emailed the cottage owner and waited to hear if she had found him. He was returned to us by post in a Jiffy bag!

at Norman's escapade . They seem to have discontinued the construction range so he might have been tricky to replace. Thank goodness he lived to fight another election!

LIZS Yes, they do seem to have discontinued the construction range, which is a shame, Ds had loads of it. Although at the time I think a spare Norman might have been still available (this was back in 2009) he wouldn't be now!
