N/C because in the unlikely event anybody knows me here this is very outing, but naice ham, cheeky holiday husband and wife etc.
I am putting together a mix CD for my friend’s daughter’s second birthday- songs that hopefully she’ll enjoy dancing around to when she’s little and grow to love when she’s older.
I’m looking for simple, cheery, clean(ish) classics. So far I’ve got:
Mr Blue Sky by ELO
Starfish and Coffee by Prince
Jump In Line by Harry Belafonte
Octopus’ Garden by The Beatles
Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley
It’s Oh So Quiet by Björk
Firecracker by Yellow Magic Orchestra

Would really appreciate any suggestions by clever Mumsnetters as to some lovely pop ditties to include.

I’m a huge KB fan, and have been wracking my brains to think of one. I think a lot of them are a bit spooky. Maybe Rubberband Girl?

ABBA - Waterloo

There are better ABBA songs out there, but the lyrics of most of them are surprisingly mature...

Or Why Should I Love You?

trilbydoll · 25/07/2019 20:00

My two love Aqua and Toybox, who I hadn't heard of until YouTube recommended them!

MyFlabberIsAghast · 25/07/2019 20:00

How can you overlook Zoom by Fat Larry's Band?

BoronationStreet · 25/07/2019 20:06

My DS loves roar by Katy Perry. He's 2.5.

WhyDoesItAlways · 25/07/2019 20:06

My DS (2) once asked Alexa for super trooper. I have no idea how he knows that song as I don't play abba at home but he LOVES it and will dance (jump) around to it for hours. So now I love abba because it's such a great energy burn for him!

He also regularly asks for the man by the killers and shotgun by George Ezra.

NannaNoodleman · 25/07/2019 20:11

My 2 year old is a big fan of Elton John! She also likes Beatles songs (have you ever seen Beat Bugs on Netflix).

My 3 year old likes Queen ( especially Don't Stop Me Now) and various Bon Jovi & Bryan Adams songs - no idea where that came from.

Dc loved Denis Denis as a 2yo and the Justin Timberlake Trolls song

MilkLady02 · 25/07/2019 20:18
