Which politicians do you rate, regardless of party?

In these troubled times it’s hard to like an entire party.

I would like a government with the following cabinet members:

Jess Phillips
Tom Watson
Phillip Hammond
Jo Swinson
Ken Clarke
Michael Heseltine
Rory Stewart
Ian Blackford .

Anyone want to add some names to my list?

Joanna Cherry QC, Joan McAlpine and Dr Paul Williams

historysock · 21/07/2019 00:47

Ken Clarke, Rory Stewart, Mhari Black, Andy Burnham.

Flooopers · 21/07/2019 00:53

@Harebel, stop your whining and name your own politicians!

Try to be less of a moaning wanker, there's a poppet!

Flooopers · 21/07/2019 00:54

Whiiiiine, whiiiiiine, whiiiiiiine.

'None of the politicians I like have been mentioned'

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 21/07/2019 01:00

Kirsty Blackman
Mhairi Black
Rory Stewart
Ed Balls
Yvette Cooper
Hilary Benn

Flooopers · 21/07/2019 01:01

I wish Yvette Cooper would take over from magic grandpa

allpanicnodisco2 · 21/07/2019 01:06

Stella Creasy, Ruth Davidson

thethethethethe · 21/07/2019 01:18

I have issues with a few of those. What has Nicola Sturgeon actually achieved for Scotland, for example? She mainly seems to be good at PR.
A number of those are bad news on Trans issues.
I've been impressed with Yvette Cooper over Brexit though.

Flooopers · 21/07/2019 01:26

She's managed to not be a total fuck up. Which is more than can be said for most English politicians who've been in positions of power in the last five years.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 21/07/2019 01:38

Ken Clarke
Yvette Cooper
Keir Starmer
Hilary Benn
Vince Cable

redexpat · 21/07/2019 01:38

Jess Phillips is a fabulously wonderful woman.
David Lammy
Stephen Pound
I really like Ann Widdicome when shes on grumpy old women.

I dont like Hilary Benn. He didnt answer my question at Labour Youth conference.

Flooopers · 21/07/2019 01:41

Ann Widdecombe is a homophobic, anti choice, right wing monster. But she was quite amusing on Strictly so that negates all the cunty shit...

redexpat · 21/07/2019 01:46

I know all of that! Hence the Grumpy Old Women caveat.

MsAdventures · 21/07/2019 01:57

David Lammy
Harriet Harman
Kier Starmer
Yvette Cooper
Dominic Grieve

They strike me as capable, hard working and actually wanting to improve people’s live

Gooseysgirl · 21/07/2019 02:34

Stella Creasy

ForalltheSaints · 21/07/2019 08:33

Agree about Stella Creasy and Yvette Cooper.

Vince Cable
Caroline Lucas
Jo Swinson
Hillary Benn
Mhari Black

Alltheprettyseahorses · 21/07/2019 08:45

Any that don't actively hate women. Mhairi Black's recent video calling women 'Jeremy Hunts' was vile and she should have been stood down for it.

HillRunner · 21/07/2019 08:46

Harriet Harman
David Lammy
Ken Clarke (although I don't always disagree with him, he has integrity)
Vince Cable
Jess Phillips
Keir Starmer is who I would really like to see as Labour leader

Giggorata · 21/07/2019 08:55

Despite not agreeing with some of his politics, Sir Edward Leigh, who defied the whip and voted against bombing Iraq, and is gender critical.

Mehmehmeh19 · 21/07/2019 08:58

Andy Burnham
Yvette Cooper

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 21/07/2019 09:09

David TC Davies. For being the only one willing to actually stand up for women.

I also sort of not-admire others for their blatant doggedness in the face of overwhelming evidence to counter their view. But I wouldn't say that was a compliment!

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 21/07/2019 09:10

^ English MPs.

There aid also Joanna Cherry and Joan McAlpine who are MSP.

swisscheeseplant · 21/07/2019 09:22

David Lammy
Frank Field
Jim Fitzpatrick
John Major
Rory Stewart
Yvette Cooper

ThanosSavedMe · 21/07/2019 09:26

Emily Thornbury
David Lammy

Gintonic · 21/07/2019 09:32

I like all the MPs previously mentioned apart from Ann Widecome, and I am not sure about Kier Starmer as had assumed he was just another Corbynite but maybe I need to find out more about him.

Can I add Magid Magid to the list? Not an MP but doing a great job as an MEP and actually making the European Parliament interesting.
