Kenneth Branagh is not as good of a director as he thinks he is.

Hithere12 · 05/07/2019 13:25

People who visit Dubai who are aware that slavery is legal in Dubai and those fancy hotels you’re staying in are built by slaves are bad people.

Ihatesundays · 05/07/2019 13:27

Barbecues are fucking awful. They stink and the food is disgusting.

They should weigh primary school children ever year or two. Far too many get overweight and their parents are too stupid to see it (or care).
Children should do much more activity in school.

roisinagusniamh · 05/07/2019 13:27

Hithere, I agree.
People like that don't think 'tho. I doubt they do it knowingly....but, tht's almost worse.

dragonegg · 05/07/2019 13:31

If you have clicking key tones on your phone you're a twat.

Cats are the absolute worst

My dog is more important to me than your kid.

Sex and the City was a shite program

Parents talking to their teens in a baby voice is wrong, stop it!

Underhisi · 05/07/2019 13:41

"We should be charged for a GP appointment"

Nice extra tax on the disabled and chronically ill.

maloofhoof · 05/07/2019 13:54

@Underhisi ongoing issues can be discussed over the telephone, you don't need to be seen every time.

Gummybear11 · 05/07/2019 14:02

Society places no value on motherhood or stay at home parenting. One parent at home to raise their preschool age child should be a priority.

BearRabbitPants · 05/07/2019 14:12

@roisinagusniamh it's best for MY very content, sleeping 11 hours through the night, meeting weight targets, extremely happy 4 month old baby thank you Grin

Sagradafamiliar · 05/07/2019 14:21

Over the telephone with who malhoof?

maloofhoof · 05/07/2019 14:22

@Sagradafamiliar their GP

MauisHouseOnMaui · 05/07/2019 14:25

ongoing issues can be discussed over the telephone, you don't need to be seen every time.

For many ongoing conditions and disabilities you do need to be seen so it would effectively be a tax on the disabled and the chronically ill.

The level of ignorance on this thread is unbelievable.

Sagradafamiliar · 05/07/2019 14:26

Thought so. So instead of spending on a GP in-person appointment which a disabled person would struggle to get to anyway, people could bypass all that and simply get them on the blower for free and take up the same amount of time from the GP.

MotherWol · 05/07/2019 14:28

Shopping is a boring and pointless waste of time
Being at home with a parent isn't necessarily better for a child than being in a (good, stimulating) preschool setting. The problem is running childcare on a for-profit basis, rather than a state-subsidised model as per other European countries.
Cycling is a normal mode of transport, and our attitude to it in the UK makes us look petty and small.
'School isn't childcare' is a rubbish reason for the education system not adjusting to the fact that most people work (at least) 9-5.
The patriarchy is very real, and too many women don't realise how it functions against them until it's too late.
'British values' don't exist; the things that people think of as British values are usually vague and meaningless (e.g. sense of fair play) and apply to pretty much everywhere, except our devotion to drinking tea.

maloofhoof · 05/07/2019 14:29

@MauisHouseOnMaui that's your opinion, I have mine. Which is the whole point of this thread. I've had a chronic illness for over six months. I've had scans and multiple tests, and during the course of those six months I've only had to physically see my GP once. All other contact, which is weekly, has been telephone appointments. I'm curious what disabilities/chronic illnesses needs to be physically seen each and every time.

maloofhoof · 05/07/2019 14:32

@Sagradafamiliar it is categorically not the same amount of time. GP's are given ten minute slots for physical appointments. More often than not, these overrun. Phone calls are invariably five minutes or less.

joystir59 · 05/07/2019 14:32

Stray cats shouldn't be fed as it encourages unsustainable cat population growth.

joystir59 · 05/07/2019 14:33

Cyclists are antisocial selfish twats

MauisHouseOnMaui · 05/07/2019 14:33

That's you and your individual set of circumstances which don't necessarily apply to other people. It's not for you to judge that people don't need to see their GP when you have no idea of their situation.

joystir59 · 05/07/2019 14:34

Choosing to not have kids makes perfect sense.

maloofhoof · 05/07/2019 14:41

@MauisHouseOnMaui well that's the point, I can judge and I do. Just as I judge the people that book appointments for colds, the people that "forget" they had an appointment so time is wasted that could have been spent on someone that really needed it, the people that "forget" to order their repeat prescription every month and demand GP's are interrupted to get their prescriptions signed. I'd still like examples of disabilities and chronic illnesses that need to be physically seen every time.

MauisHouseOnMaui · 05/07/2019 14:42

Then Google it.

maloofhoof · 05/07/2019 14:43

@MauisHouseOnMaui 🤔 thought so
