Starbucks or caffee Nero?

I've had a frazzled type of day so tomorrow I'm taking baby out for a nice coffee and yummy cake.

Now which is best for cakes? Starbucks or Caffè Nero?

I'd pick Starbucks because I really like their tea.

Nero every time when there's not a reliable indie option. Costa cakes are awful, all sugar and no flavour - I can't believe so many people like them!

Costa is absolutely horrific. End up in Starbucks most often as I love the drive through option and some of the savoury stuff is great. Good oat milk latte too. Like Nero cakes but find the coffee really hit and miss.

Nero, then costa, then Starbucks would be my preference.

Cafe Nero for me their cafes always seem a lot nicer and if your lucky you can hog one of their slouchy sofas

Nero, every time. The only place that sells coffee that actually tastes vaguely like, y'know, coffee. The other places just sell buckets of warm brownish water.

Although I am partial to a Starbucks cinnamon swirl if I'm feeling really filthy. But not their coffee. Never, ever their coffee.

Are there no independent coffee shops you can go to. Cakes normally better and supporting a local business not a chain.

I got a coffee in Nero last year for the first time in years and it was so vile I had to throw it away.

Starbucks or Costa are far superior.

Eh?? Nero's coffee is VILE, totally bitter and burnt-tasting.

I like Starbucks but only a sweet, syrup-y latte as they over-roast their beans (though their new blonde espresso takes care of that).

Costa is probably the best all-rounder. Their cakes are nice.

Starbucks coffee has a strange aftertaste, bitter & chemical. The cakes are never that exiting either.

Neros by a long way , tho Costa is ok, never Starbucks.
A espresso and a brownie from Neros is a treat for me on a rare occasion. ( about once every 2 / 3 months )

Another frazzled day so I ended up buying a cake and eating it at home standing up in the kitchen!

@amusedbush well I can’t say I feel that bad about the sugar, as I bloody deserve it most of the time
