Starbucks or caffee Nero?

I've had a frazzled type of day so tomorrow I'm taking baby out for a nice coffee and yummy cake.

Now which is best for cakes? Starbucks or Caffè Nero?

Or Costa??

Not Starbucks, cakes always stale and coffee too bitter

I'm a fan of both but Nero is definitely better - better service and nicer cakes!

I like Nero best. Nice coffee (where you can actually taste the coffee in a latte!), good cakes and generally nice atmosphere.

Nero every time - nice cakes, esp panettone, that actually have some taste (unlike costa) and their coffee doesn’t give me the shakes (unlike Starbucks).

Caffè Nero wins on all counts. Their coffee is by far the best and their pastries are yummy too.

I had a chocolate muffin in starbucks recently that tasted of nothing! It was awful! If I’d had my eyes closed I would not have been able to guess it was chocolate! Avoid!

Starbucks in my city smells really bad and is unsurprisingly empty a lot, Costa is dark and dingy. Nero has great coffee and lovely atmosphere, Nero every time for me!

Nero coffee is great. I don’t have a sweet tooth so can’t comment on the cakes - it’s years since I ate cake or pastries. I like the sandwiches in Starbucks though.

Another vote for Nero. Like the coffee and their cakes.

Costa coffee is a bit bland but their cakes are ok.

Starbucks has nasty coffee and stale cakes.

If your town is big enough to have a Starbucks, are there no nice independent coffee shops to go to?

Neros lemon muffin is amazing as are their coconut lattes

Nero, definitely. The nicest coffee by far, and a good choice of cakes.

Starbucks! but only if it's a proper one and not a franchise one !

What about a nice cake from a bakery and a take away coffee and sit by a park/long walk? Hope tomorrow’s a better day

Starbucks cheese and marmite panini is a thing of beauty, and they do child sized hot chocolate which doesn't cost a fortune.
Everything else is there is crap.

Otherwise I prefer Nero to Costa but the Nero in my town is a dive and I've seen one of the staff clean the toilet, then go straight onto serving without washing her hands

So I go to Costa.

Cafe Nero every time. Costa at a push. Starbucks only if no other options.

Neither. Go and support a local, independent coffee shop that pays it's corporation tax.
