If you could do any degrees (all funded) what would you do?

You would be able to do as many as you want and have no money problems so won't have to work.

I would do:
Psychology degree + masters
Go to medical school and specialise in something
Something to do with nutrition

Anthropology or history

ComeTheFuck0nBridget · 27/06/2019 22:53

Psychology, anthropology, illustration 😁

LittleCandle · 27/06/2019 23:00

Medieval history and genealogy. I would do honours and then masters in both.

littlepooch · 27/06/2019 23:05

Physiotherapy. So wish I had done that and not what I ended up doing.

rabbitsandrhubarb · 27/06/2019 23:06

Architecture
Anthropology
Geology
Geography
French

My degree is in Archaeology, I am amazed that so many people would like to do a degree in that subject

Bunnyjo · 27/06/2019 23:13

I have a degree and masters already, but would love to do medicine. Not having faith in myself to study medicine is my biggest regret to date.

I would specialise in oncology as my masters was on cancer research, specifically Her2+ ductal carcinoma (type of breast cancer).

Once my DC are older, I am considering doing my PhD in the same field as my masters. Would still love to work bedside, rather than bench side, though.

OneWildNightWithJBJ · 27/06/2019 23:21

Got my psychology masters but would love to do a clinical psych or ed psych doctorate. Or psychiatry or anthropology... My other interest is art, so some kind of art or illustration degree maybe.

motorcyclenumptiness · 27/06/2019 23:34

PPE for the job prospects

Nogodsnomasters · 27/06/2019 23:57

English language, politics, sociology.

TheFormidableMrsC · 27/06/2019 23:59

Law. I regret not doing it.

ZetaPuppis · 28/06/2019 00:00

Astronomy

Motherofacat · 28/06/2019 00:04

Interesting to read everyone else's. I have a psychology degree and MA in psychotherapy so would love to do something in humanities for a change. English literature, philosophy, art and music

TransFannyUltrasound · 28/06/2019 00:18

Romance languages.

I’d have to start at the bottom though, I’ve only got GCSE Spanish from 30 years ago.

No A levels in anything at all.

I’m probably not well enough to do any formal study, but most days I listen to a language CD in Spanish, Italian or French.

I’d completely forgotten about the ridiculous French numbering system, so that has given me a good laugh.

Actually, thanks for asking the question, because today my depression has been particularly crushing, and this reminds me that there is a little something for me to try to stay alive for.

Gingerkittykat · 28/06/2019 00:32

I would finish my qualification in counselling and psychotherapy, go on and do a PHd specialising in complex trauma.

Since I'm now going to be a perpetual student I'd also pick up some instruments again and study music. Then I might get my paintbrushes out and do some art, then hit the books and study Scottish literature.

Greensleeves · 28/06/2019 00:33

PhD in history. Would have done it years ago if we weren't skint.

SimplySteveRedux · 28/06/2019 00:49

Definitely medicine.

netflixlove · 28/06/2019 01:19

@TransFannyUltrasound Thanks I have depression too (amongst other MH problems) hence why I'm only just thinking about uni at 20! It helps me also as studying is a constant and something to look forward too.

@RedWineAllMine That sounds so interesting! I'm leaning towards forensic psychology myself! (Psychology degree then MA in forensic psychology).

Um. You do realise that you don't specialise during your medical degree? There's far too much basic essentials to get through. A few people do intercalate a BSc, but that doesn't really count. Specialisation comes several years after medical school, as a junior doctor.

netflixlove · 28/06/2019 01:26

@nocoolnamesleft yeah I know, I meant specialise in something afterwards :)

Psychology and Counselling for work. History, just because Ive always loved it and found it faxsinating.

TravellingSpoon · 28/06/2019 09:29

Learning disability nursing. It would be a step up in career for me. I would love to do it but think I would really struggle juggling the hours needed for placements at the moment, so about to begin a Psychology Degree online and then do Graduate Nursing conversion.

I would also love to do a PHD in History, specifically the 'forgotten' civil war after the death of Henry II, or on my historical crush, Simon De Montfort.

vampirethriller · 28/06/2019 12:43

Chemistry
Law

FrenchFancie · 28/06/2019 12:47

Midwifery
I even went as far as going to my local uni and speaking to the admissions tutors, trying to sort out finance etc but then they took away the bursary and there’s no way I can afford such a career change now. I’m hugely saddened by this

TransFannyUltrasound · 28/06/2019 14:26

netflixlove thank you 😊 .

(Don’t know if I’ve tagged you right; I’m new to this stuff.)

The world is your cockle, and I say go for whatever you can.

But yes, depression and other mental health issues can REALLY bollocks things up.
