We will be going on holiday soon and one of my dc is autistic. He watches videos on YouTube mainly. Most of the games he plays also all need the internet apart from basic minecraft. Is there any way to download a load of videos off you tube before we leave the house so we can watch those? Or not even on YouTube, anything else? Tv programmes etc?

He won’t sit and listen to music, not an option. We have portable DVD player but it’s bulky.

Any one know? He seems to think he can download but you need to pay for premium on YouTube?

It would seem that you don’t have much luck with computers, do you!

Seagate are joint market leaders along with a company called Western Digital. Both are pretty good quality wise. Have you tried your hard drive in another computer to see if it is detected? You can then determine if the laptop or the hard drive is at fault.

Yes it’s recognised On other laptop but can’t use it on other laptop as it’s bog standards and can’t play the games the dc play on it hence the gaming laptop. In the gaming one it makes the bing to say it’s in and then bings as if you’ve taken it out when it’s still in?

I can’t see anything physically wrong with the laptop though, the socket looks fine?

It’s not likely to be anything physically wrong with the USB socket, but more likely to be a windows driver issue with your laptop. You could try doing a windows update, that sometimes sorts it out, but other than that it means delving a bit deeper into the inner workings of windows to restore the driver.
The fist “bing” it makes when it has recognised something has been plugged-in, but the second “bing” denotes an error.
