I am so drugged up on anti histamines and still am in agony. I think I am just like this for a couple of weeks a year but it is horrific. Glad it is the weekend and dh here as I am just lying around feeling out of it and awful

@worriedandannoyed its montlukast (I think?)

BikeRunSki · 22/06/2019 23:07

Yes! DH is dying of hatfever today, worst day of the year.

worriedandannoyed · 22/06/2019 23:13

Thanks @Spooksandchocolatecake I haven't tried that one. Might be the next one to try!

TokyoSushi · 22/06/2019 23:18

DD and I are absolutely fine. Its the boys that get it in our house, DS is snotty but OK, poor DH is absolutely dreadful.

ThatCurlyGirl · 22/06/2019 23:26

YESSSS omg why is it so bad this year?! It's like being allergic to summer! I went for a walk and had to come home it was so bad. Has anyone read anything to explain why it's so awful this year? Skin around my eyes feels so thin and sore ☹️☹️☹️

FakeUsername · 22/06/2019 23:32

Discovering online pharmacies was a game changer for me, but what I need at a few quid more than the GP. I fine dosing earlier, before the dying bit, helps hugely. Whereas to get fexodfenadine etc from the GP you need to be at the dying stage. It seems to build up in my system. I’m not cured, but it’s normal sneezy/ a bit stuffed up as opposed to floored and wanting to cry

ThatCurlyGirl · 23/06/2019 00:00

Oh god I don't know how the fuck I'm gonna sleep tonight. Almost looking forward to morning but then if I do fall asleep when I wake up I'll get the horror of it INSTANTLY starting again when I open my streaming sore eyes as I reach for my antihistimenes. Uuuuuugh.

Will keep all windows closed.
Keep house bunny away from me 💔
Send someone out to pharmacy to ask for phenargen (hit and miss worth a try)
Shower first and last thing

Anything else I can try? Desperate and even if it gets better soon it's the best time to try new things to see what works!

SOS I need me some help!

ThatCurlyGirl · 23/06/2019 00:01

@FakeUsername

Is it fexodfenadine you've had from online chemists and found useful? If so is there an online chemist you particularly remember? Thanks so much.

Soola · 23/06/2019 03:18

Mines back! I’ve woken with a bunged up nose, wheezy chest and itchy ears.

CrowleysBentley · 23/06/2019 05:30

Yep, I am, DS is too. We are dosed up on antihistamines, eye drops, and I've got some soothing eyelid cream.

A little bit of aquaphor around nostrils and eyes seems to help a bit.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 23/06/2019 08:00

Is it fexodfenadine you've had from online chemists and found useful?

I've bought Fexofenadine online from UK Meds. It was easy to do, not expensive, and arrived quickly. I can't say it's working for me, but someone told me I should have gone for 180mg (which was also available) rather than 120mg.

itsboiledeggsagain · 23/06/2019 08:04

Ug so much Hay-fever.
On the plus side I slept beautifully with all those drugs in me!

I hadn't had hay-fever in years but got it really bad yesterday. I'd forgotten how unpleasant it is...

BeagleMomma · 23/06/2019 08:25

I've found Prevalin Allergy Plus nasal spray to be a lifesaver the past couple years (it's been rebranded becodefense plus) really helps with the glorious one nostril blocked/one dripping snot situation Envy

Also, if you have horrible eyes, get yourself an eye wash that comes with an eye bath, Tesco and sainsburies and boots do them, little blue cups on the top, so refreshing and it rinses the pollen and irritants out of your eyes.

I also found changing up my antihistamines every couple of years can help.

The thing that has helped me the most though, NEVER DRY YOUR CLOTHES ON THE LINE OUTSIDE! This really changed my hayfever. My rule is nothing that goes over my head can be dried outside, or pollen sticks to it and then it's all over you as you put clean clothes on. It's a pain but really did help.

BarryBarryTaylor · 23/06/2019 09:17

tidypidy really??? Thank you so much for letting me know. I went to see the chemist and they just said no way 🤦🏻‍♀️
I will make GP app tomorrow as I am up and suffering already.
Doesn’t help we live near a canal, there is some plant round there that I just can’t cope with!

JustMe9 · 23/06/2019 09:23

Same here!!! Until I tried taking CBD oild two weeks ago - It stopped my hayfever and my egzema completely. This morning I havent even had a single sneeze x Cbd is a miracle to me.

BarryBarryTaylor · 23/06/2019 09:25

JustMe when you say you take CBD oil, how do you mean exactly? Do you put some in your tea/coffee?

happytobemrsg · 23/06/2019 09:27

God is been horrible this year. I just want to rip my nose off & put it in the freezer. I’m pregnant so I can’t take my usual antihistamines either

JustMe9 · 23/06/2019 09:35

No - Ive got some cbd oil capsules (from holland and barret) and have been taking 1 every morning and i do feel a massive difference :) They arent cheap but is really worth it x

JustMe9 · 23/06/2019 09:38

If you cant take antihistamines - try good old vitamin c - it helps to reliev hayfever as well.

BarryBarryTaylor · 23/06/2019 09:41

Thanks JustMe I will look into CBD capsules

evilharpy · 23/06/2019 09:43

I'm not suffering at the moment at all but I had an awful time earlier in the year. I spent about three weeks wanting to gouge my eyes out. I believe the problem for early sufferers is tree pollen.

DaveMinion · 23/06/2019 10:54

Yes! Fexofenadine and fluticasone nasal spray are doing nothing. My asthma is now boing affected which doesn’t normally happen. Plus sinuses are blocked so awful sinus pain and tonsils are killing too. Fml.

orangeshoebox · 23/06/2019 10:56

since I discovered steroid nasal sprays I'm almost symptom free.
I still keep out pollen as much as possible but at least I can sleep well and I can see when out walking or cycling.

ThatCurlyGirl · 23/06/2019 12:44

Pharmacist has recommended phenargen so I'll give it a go and report back!
