Hpv vaccine

My daughter is due to get this next year. I really do not want her to get it. She has had all her other vaccinations so no problem with vaccinating her its just something does not sit well with me on this. They are really pushing it even talking about making vaccines mandatory. What do others think? have any of your kids been vaccinated and were there any side affects?

Don't let her have it. Do your research! The vaccine has not been rigorously tested enough. I have had 2 of the vaccines many moons ago and long story short but they made me so poorly for months that I honestly didn't think I'd recover.

My daughter had the first lot of HPV vaccines when she was about 13 (she's now 26). It was a no-brainer. She had no side effects. I had HPV-related pre-cancerous cells when I was 22, had a colposcopy then laser treatment. All very unpleasant and traumatic. Still here 23 years later (thank god cervical screening was available then once you were over 16 I think? or I may not have been here now to tell the tale).

No way would I would want my daughter to go through all that for something that is now pretty much preventable.

I fully intend for my son to have the vaccines at his school next year. That should be interesting....I recently got a phone call from his school asking me to pick him up - he had fainted after a teacher had merely TALKED about having an injection 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'm a healthcare professional and will be paying for my DS to have it.
There is huge evidence for the benefits. It's too early in the UK to yet show a reduction in cervical cancer as the first women given the imm are only just about to start smears. There has been a 40% reduction in genital warts in immunised young women in last few years. This will change further as the current vaccine covers 4 instead of 2 subtypes of HPV.
HPV is an STI but as 90% of the population get it you would be naive to think your DC won't.
I've had young women in tears whose parents declined the immunization for them and now they can't afford to have it. Some of them since had warts. By the time unimmunised DC can afford it and realise they want it they are likely to be already exposed.

Whether you want her to have it or will 'allow' her to have it is irrelevant. It's up to your DD, not you.

Sanevax is an antivax site and therefore not an unbiased source of information. Hmm
