We’ve always shared. When we lived a fair distance from the train station I used to get up early and drop DH, then collect him in the evening. We have now moved and chose to live in a village with a station, so DH now walks to and from his commute. We are also walkable to school etc. We occasionally have clashes, but work round them, and if DH goes away for the odd weekend, we usually hire a car if needed. That works out much cheaper than running a second full time.

We have 2 cars because we need 2 cars. We live in a rural village and we work in different places, me 25 miles north of home, him 15 miles south of home. My car is much better than his, of course Wink.

After posting about us using the bus today I find out the bus company is changing the route and so bus is no longer a viable option for us. So annoyed by this. Not much we can do either. It's our only bus too. It's a minor - medium annoyance for us but it will really affect the elderly around her who depend upon it.

We’ve had 2 but now only need 1 and don’t miss the second car at all. DH commutes for work and I am only 5 minutes walk from mine so we got rid of my husbands and kept mine, which was newer and had more room for the kids car seats.

On the rare occasions I need the car when DH is working we are both insured for my mums car so one of us can use that and the other our own.
