Hi all,
Bored so thought I would start a riotGrin.
The correct order:
Tea bag, sugar, water, press bag to get the tea out, remove bag, milk.

How I take my tea:
Not very strong, four sugars, not very much milk.
What about you?

Tea bag, one sugar, water, leave to stew for a minute as I like mine strong. Splash of milk.

Never put the milk in before the sugar as then it just sinks to the bottom and doesn't dissolve properly Envy

Deadringer · 16/06/2019 16:49

Teabag in a cup will not do, must be made in a teapot. Boil kettle, put hot water in teapot and swish around to warm before making tea, put teapot on cooker for 5/6 minutes to brew, pour tea, add milk, drink.
I like it quite strong with a lot of milk, no sugar.

Same method except I take just under 1 teaspoon of sugar and some milk. Don't like it too weak

GiggleMcDimples · 16/06/2019 16:51

Where's the teapot??? Hmm

Ratatouille76 · 16/06/2019 16:51

4 sugars!!!!!

MustardScreams · 16/06/2019 16:52

FOUR sugars?!! Christ

Boil kettle
Teabag in cup
Hot water in
Leave for 2-3 mins
Take teabag out with a squeezer thing
Milk in whilst stirring

handbaghoarderr · 16/06/2019 16:53

I love using a tea pot with tea cups and a milk jug, or if I'm in a rush, I just use a tea cup, I hate using mugs for tea.

Bag in mug, boiling water, dandle the bag up and down a bit with a teaspoon. Balance the teaspoon across the top of the mug while the tea brews for a couple of minutes. Another quick dandle, then squeeze the bag against the side of the mug and remove it. Tiny dash of milk.

handbaghoarderr · 16/06/2019 16:55

Why's everyone so shocked at four sugars... it's bitter without lots of sugar!

jackparlabane · 16/06/2019 16:56

As long as it involves a kettle and not merely hot water, going onto tea, and is proper brown tea, I'm not too fussed.
Pour boiling water into teabag/tea egg. A minute later, add milk. A few minutes later remove tea egg, or if tea bag, just leave it in. If I'm asking, "strong and milky, no sugar please".

dudsville · 16/06/2019 16:57

Ok. Take note.

Boil kettle. Pour a little boiling water into the pot to warm it. Tip the out. Put in two tsp loose leaf assam and two tsp loose leaf earl. Add boiling water. Let sit for 5 min.

Get your tray. Put on it your pot, cups, tea strainer, milk jug. Decide if you're having treats. Take tea tray to a lovely place to sit.

Enjoy.

handbaghoarderr · 16/06/2019 16:59

Oh My God, I'm absolutely craving tea now!!

Bag in cup, hot water, leave for a min or 2, little bit of milk.

Sugar in tea is wrong.

SrSteveOskowski · 16/06/2019 17:00

Very strong. No sugar, small drop of milk.

D1 for me. Anything in 3 and 4 is only fit to be poured down the sink and I'm not too impressed with C2 or D2 either.

What is the correct way to make tea, and how do you take your tea?
steppemum · 16/06/2019 17:02

I hardly know anyone who has any sugar, let alone 4!!

Tea brews best with boiling water, so tea bag and boiling water poured on top. The tea needs heat, and the oxygen in the boiling water.

Once tea is brewed to required colour, then remove tea bag, then add milk.

Once milk is in, tea doesn't continue to brew properly.

But actually I'm not that fussy, I've drunk tea all over the world, in many variations!

handbaghoarderr · 16/06/2019 17:03

'Sugar in tea is wrong.'
How so?

Somewhere between B3 and C3
I use sweetener.

steppemum · 16/06/2019 17:03

Earl Grey is the work of the devil. Wink

KaleidoscopeEyes · 16/06/2019 17:04

Extra strong tea bag in a mug, boiling water, leave to brew for a minute, splash of milk.

I don't ask for tea anywhere else, because only I make it how I like it!

DramaAlpaca · 16/06/2019 17:08

Must be made in a teapot, preferably with loose leaf tea but teabags are OK. Left to brew until it's strong. Pour into large mug & add a tiny dash of milk. No sugar. I'll put up with a teabag in a mug if I'm at work.

Right, I'm putting the kettle on. Anyone for a Brew? Smile

RolyWatts · 16/06/2019 17:11

Metal tea pot.
Tea bags in tea pot.
Water in teapot.
Teapot on hob for a few minutes.
Meanwhile.....
Milk in mug (and sugar if that's your fancy)
Remove tea from hob and pour into mugs.

Best tea ever.

floraloctopus · 16/06/2019 17:13

at home:

loose tea in thingy
thingy in the water
thingy out
milk in
thingy emptied into caddy for compost
enjoy tea

at work:

teabag in water
think that will do
teabag out
milk in
leave tea to go cold and drink about 4 hours later

Pascha · 16/06/2019 17:18

Oh dear. I'd like to say teapot etc but the reality is:

Teabag in cup
Boiling water
Forget for 10 minutes
Squeeze bag and remove
Tiny splosh of milk

Tastes fine.

Pascha · 16/06/2019 17:19

And I'm a c2, or a b3 at a push if there's too much milk in it.
