What is your secret that you waste money on?

We must all have one thing that we secretly treat ourselves too... or waste money on.... for many women it seems to be shoes or a nice handbag etc.
Me? I waste my money on flight upgrades

What about you?

Motorbike leathers and bits for the bikes that cost considerably more than DH thinks :-)

AFistfulofDolores1 · 13/06/2019 18:38

Plants and gardening stuff; face creams/lotions; Prosecco.

fatimashortbread · 13/06/2019 18:38

Knitting yarn at wool festivals

ilovechocolate07 · 13/06/2019 18:40

Champagne

Nitw1t · 13/06/2019 18:40

The weirdest thing I waste money on is kids' gifts.

My own DC are 3 and 5. But I have a box of about 50 gifts for "their friends' parties". But when the parties come round, I always struggle to give the "carefully selected" gift box things away to children I don't know very well. And then I go shopping for a different gift and buy 3 more.

At some point, the DCs are going to grow out of all the potential presents and I'm going to be left with a massive haul of toys and books.

babooshkamybush · 13/06/2019 18:40

@WellTidy you've listed all of mine, right down to the salvias (except mine's more like 2 stone to lose) Blush

RoyEastmannKodak · 13/06/2019 18:41

Chocolate. It’s shameful. Then I go to slimming world and genuinely wonder why I haven’t lost because I’ve been so successfully at even denying my hastily crammed-in-my-gob-in-secret chocolate habit to MYSELF! If nobody saw me do it it didn’t happen.

Until I get on the scales 😳

Gingernaut · 13/06/2019 18:41

Craft kits, cross stitch stuff and charity shops clothes "that only need a little bit of work" to make them wearable....

Fere · 13/06/2019 18:42

Knitting yarn for sure (in person at festivals and online too), patterns and yet another set of needles or hooks.
Kindle books I will never read because there's only so many hours in a day Smile

Freyasmum1 · 13/06/2019 18:44

Books, takeaway, makeup

Rarfy · 13/06/2019 18:45

Coke (the soft drink) its my answer to everything.

Headache - coke will sort it.

Hangover - coke is the cure.

Tired - coke will perk me up.

I don't drink hot drinks so there probably is something with the caffeine. I wouldn't care I completely cut it out when pregnant, need to get back to that.

Mazzystarlett · 13/06/2019 18:49

Books, sewing patterns and sewing tools. I also have a pretty bad British Heart Foundation Ebay Shop addiction, I love the random stuff they have! Grin

Carriecakes80 · 13/06/2019 18:50

I treat myself once a month to a tub of Haagen Daz cookie dough, and thats truly extravagant to me lol.
Me & hubby share it when our four kids are all in bed, its our monthly treat to ourselves to getting through another month! x The couple that gorge together, stays together!

Shockers · 13/06/2019 18:53

I take DD out to a nice local cafe once a week. I’m working very part time because she’s been ill and is on a very reduced timetable at college. It’s a luxury for us at the moment, but we look forward to it.

We also go for lunch once a week at a less expensive cafe, at our local animal shelter. Then we stroke cats all afternoon. We look forward to that even more Grin.

WellTidy · 13/06/2019 18:54

babooshkamybush we will get there. At lease we have the salvias in the meantime. Life could be worse Smile

itsagoodlife · 13/06/2019 18:58

Art, which is why I never go near a gallery until I have enough more to buy something however small.

fleshmarketclose · 13/06/2019 18:59

Audiobooks. I have an audible subscription but top it up by buying myself gifts of twelve books on top regularly.

Stravapalava · 13/06/2019 19:00

Funky nut butters from independent companies. Not exactly a waste, as I do eat it, but I tend to kind of hoard it and I'm the only one who eats it in my house!

DuMondeB · 13/06/2019 19:01

Swedish Hasbeen clogs.

PeoniesarePink · 13/06/2019 19:02

Hotel Chocolat.

Things for the dogs - I have 2 and they each have around 20 collars and lead sets. Even though they can only wear one at a time. I wouldn't even want to count up their bowls...........

Perfume, I have 18 bottles on the go at the moment Blush

Handbags. DH has banned me from the Osprey outlet we live near.

pinkstripeycat · 13/06/2019 19:17

Nothing as don’t have enough to pay the bills most months. If I did it would be things for my garden, plants, landscaping stuff

Despacitoburrito · 13/06/2019 19:17

@Shoxfordian I’m a coveter as well! Fully addicted, it’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m even a fashion house officer (smh) Blush

BiBiBirdie · 13/06/2019 19:18

Vinyl and coffee table style, beautiful books on music and music history
Oh and DJ equipment, especially vintage mixers from the 80s (my technics were disgustingly expensive but had wanted some for 20 years).
They make me happy, and when it gets ridiculous I do sell bits on. At Christmas I cleared out some doubles of records and ones I wasn't so keen on, I got £500 which paid for a lovely Christmas.

fantasmasgoria1 · 13/06/2019 19:20

Makeup, clothes, shoes and specialist drawing equipment!

MorondelaFrontera · 13/06/2019 19:21
