So DD has hairy armpits, only 11yo, she's too scared to use a razor. She doesn't want to use my old Ladyshave, so I have bought some Veet. She wants me to do it for her, I cannot see this ending well due to her being ticklish! Grin.

We are talking armpits by the way, nothing else!

I'm not sure.

I know someone dyed their baby blue on here.

I think she going to have to woman up and do it herself, she wont be relying on you when she is 35! Wink

FangsTasticBeast · 05/06/2019 22:26

Wasn’t it chaos who died the baby blue and veeted it accidentally (at different times)

Sorry op, I thought you had accidentally veeted your baby too when I saw the title

FangsTasticBeast · 05/06/2019 22:26

Dyed even 😳

Does she actually self concious about her armpits, or do you think she needs to do it?

I don't like the idea of veet on someone so young tbh. If she's adamant she wants to get rid, could you shave them for her?

Pipandmum · 05/06/2019 22:27

Too scared to use razor and doesn’t want to use Veet herself = she’s too young. My daughter’s 14 and has had hairy pits since 10, doesn’t bother her. If it really bothers your daughter she should do it herself (you could demonstrate how on yourself).

Chinks123 · 05/06/2019 22:28

Dds still too young for me to know what I’d do at that age..but just wanted to warn you that I once veeted my armpits (used a sensitive one aswell) and it took all the skin off and was so painful! Haven’t dared use it since as the same happened when I used it down below aswell Blush

Drogosnextwife · 05/06/2019 22:28

I did my legs about that age. My mum didn't want me using razors unless I cut myself. It was fine but use a sensitive one.

Drogosnextwife · 05/06/2019 22:28

Blush didn't read the pp. Maybe not very then. Can you just shave it for her?

Hotterthanahotthing · 05/06/2019 22:30

If she's to scared to uses razor then do that for her.I did fory DD when that was what she wanted until she was confident to do it herself.I bought shaving foam then to make it easier but she soon got confident in the shower.
Veet seems too daffy if you have to do it.

Mine had these as they have a cage over the blades so you can’t cut yourself.

letstryanewone · 05/06/2019 22:50

I had really hairy arms as a kid. Mum used veet once when I was probably about 10. It was fine.

clary · 05/06/2019 22:56

Bit harsh some of these replies!

Op my Dd is a dancer and was self conscious about her hairy armpits, so she used to get me to shave them. It was fine, crikey I guess I can help her out there.

Don't recall how old she was but maybe 12 and she cringed at doing it herself. She does it now tho (18 in two weeks 😄😄). Go for it I say.

Soola · 05/06/2019 23:04

Use one of these on her and show her how to use it then she can do it herself again if she wants to

Geraniumpink · 05/06/2019 23:25

I helped my daughter do her legs with Veet the first few times, when she was about that age as she was too nervous to either do it herself or use a razor. She soon managed to do it herself and then used a razor.

pinkoneblueone · 05/06/2019 23:32

No my ten year old didn't like having arms and legs out as she has dark hair and olive skin so it stood out. I bought her a Gillette razor with soap on either side of the razor so that she could do it herself I help with one of her arm pits as she has a small cyst there and was worried about cutting it but she isn't scared and will use the razor carefully herself as she is going through puberty.

BlackeyedGruesome · 06/06/2019 00:32

wasn't it honey who immacced their baby? and dyed the same baby blue?

myhamster · 06/06/2019 01:02

I won’t dye her blue, although it’s an idea 🤔🤔 Grin, she could be Genie instead of Princess Jasmine?

We are off to DLP and her Jasmine outfit doesn’t have sleeves. She only asked if she had to wax them because her friend gets hers waxed..... (But her mum is a beautician). I wouldn’t force her, I barely do my own Grin . If she doesn’t want to, it’s up to her.

I’ve bought a sensitive Veet, so I’ll give that a go with her tomorrow. I think I’d better do a test patch Chinks!

Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah, HoneyDragon dyed / Veeted her child! 😂

OP, thank you for helping your DD. I had underarm hair from 9 and hated it and my mum was useless.

kaytee87 · 06/06/2019 07:26

Even the sensitive veet burns my skin.

Loopytiles · 06/06/2019 07:31

more likely to get a burn from removal cream than cut from a razor. Would assist her with razor.

Chinks123 · 06/06/2019 12:03

Yes @myhamster as long as you do a psych test before you should be fine. Glad someone can learn from my mistake, never just whack it on! Grin

Chinks123 · 06/06/2019 12:03

*patch test

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 06/06/2019 12:36

It was HoneyDragon who veeted and possibly faked tanned the baby? It was her dog that got turned blue.

FloofyDoof · 06/06/2019 14:44

I bought my dd an electric shaver at that age, because she was nervous about using razors. I did offer to show her how to use a proper razor but she was not up for it at all. I don't think that I would have used veet on her quite that young, kid's skin is much thinner than adults, and products absorb much more easily, I'd be concerned about possible irritation or burning.

She uses the facial veet now to do her upper lip (she is quite dark haired and pale so it shows up a lot), but she started that at about 14.

Princessfaffalot · 06/06/2019 14:49

Get her a Gillette intuition, it’s impossible to cut yourself on them!
