& he HAS to drive in an hour.
My fault obviously but not sure why.
He also gave one to his DS (17).
Anyway of flushing them through?
I can’t drive as I’m on a train going in the opposite direction

What was the tablet?

Whatevermission · 26/05/2019 12:08

I don't think he should drive

QueenofPain · 26/05/2019 12:08

Absolutely no way of flushing it through and not at all safe to drive. He will have invalidated his insurance if he has an accident, also if he has an accident he might kill himself, your child and innocent third parties.

Whatever he has to drive for isn’t that important.

Outanabout · 26/05/2019 12:09

Well it's obviously your fault if you weren't there to hand them the right tablets.

Macca84 · 26/05/2019 12:09

He can't bloody drive if he's taken a sleeping tablet, end of! It's as dangerous as drink driving and he could still be charged with driving under the influence. Or he could kill someone 🤷‍♀️

lavtriesagain · 26/05/2019 12:10

He definitely shouldn’t drive

LoafofSellotape · 26/05/2019 12:10

He mustn't drive, whatever the circumstances.

TrainIsntMoving · 26/05/2019 12:10

Thanks all hopefully I will/can make alternative arrangements as you say no journey is that important.

It was Sleepeaze (Boots)

Sirzy · 26/05/2019 12:11

Whatever it is he can’t drive. Nothing is important enough to risk killing your self and others for

IAmNotPatientOrPregnant · 26/05/2019 12:11

He'll have to get a lift. Please dont encourage endangering other peoples lives.

Get him to contact a GP for advice.

I'm actually quite concerned you're asking for a way for your husband to drive under the influence of a sleeping tablet, of all things.

The ckuenis in the name, dont be stupid.
Surely he and you would rather him go another day than not make it at all..

LoafofSellotape · 26/05/2019 12:13

That's not a sleeping tablet ,it's a herbal remedy. He still shouldn't drive though.

Floralnomad · 26/05/2019 12:17

It’s not a prescribed sleeping tablet , it’s an anti histamine sold as a sleep aid , will work for his hay fever ok .

BuffaloCauliflower · 26/05/2019 12:19

That’s not a proper sleeping tablet and probably won’t have much effect at all. If he’s not feeling sleepy I wouldn’t worry tbh

TrainIsntMoving · 26/05/2019 12:20

IAmNotPatientOrPregnant - if you read my update you will see I’ve said no journey is that important

It will help the hayfever, but he shouldn't drive.

"A typical dose creates driving impairment equivalent to a blood-alcohol level of 0.10 which is higher than the 0.08 limit of most drunk driving laws" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diphenhydramine

CottonSock · 26/05/2019 12:20

I take those. There are 2 doses, 25mg or 50mg. They knock me out, esp the 50 (but I'm quite little).
Funny enough I once took one at 6am thinking it was middle of night, with a night nurse aswell Blush. I didn't drive, I worked from home a bit.

notatwork · 26/05/2019 12:20

Its an antihistamine so will help the hayfever. When sold as an antihistamine it says'may cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery' on the box. If he's affected then he shouldn't drive, but he may not be affected.

Orangepear · 26/05/2019 12:21

Where's he supposed to be driving? Sounds like he's making an excuse not to go.

CottonSock · 26/05/2019 12:21

Ps. It's not a herbal remedy. Those posters are plain wrong

IAmNotPatientOrPregnant · 26/05/2019 12:21

Sorry OP I think I was typing when you updated:)

Huggybear16 · 26/05/2019 12:22

It is an antihistamine. Drowsiness is a side effect, hence why its sold as a sleep aid. Still, he shouldn't drive if it makes him drowsy.

TrainIsntMoving · 26/05/2019 12:24

They completely knock me out & leave me with a thumping headache the next morning

OP posts:
LoafofSellotape · 26/05/2019 12:26

If it's these tablets 'those posters' are not plain wrong.

CottonSock · 26/05/2019 12:32

To avoid any uncertainties... there are herbal ones and non herbal. Not sure op specified?
I'm quite sure the above poster is not a pharmacist!
Active ingredient
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride.

TrainIsntMoving · 26/05/2019 12:33

Not the herbal ones
