Madonna and Eurovision... how did that happen?!

And what then happened?! I think the sound engineers were working overtime tonight trying to get auto tune to correct her seriously off key singing...

She was really cringeworthy and bad. Not sure I had thought she would be that bad live, although I guess at least she did sing live. Bet she wished that she hadn’t now though! 😂

She always wears clothes that look uncomfortable.

dustarr73 · 19/05/2019 20:47

She wasn't a singer then. she's not one now. She is a genius at making a lot from a little though. Good for her.

Of course shes a singer but shes not a belter. But she puts on a great show. And even though her vocals where not up to scratch last night,we are talking about her,so job done

Is there a clip of Madonna?

I saw Paul McCartney live last Christmas and he was absolutely incredible. Did a three hour set without leaving the stage and his voice was perfect.

Surely a lot of it was a technical issue - she couldn't hear what she was singing - the playback into hear earpiece was faulty imo. Bit it was also a dirge!

firemanking thanks for the Tony Grin

@RomanyQueen1 As per a PP, Gaga and Pink are very, very good live with no auto tune. I think you might be getting your singers muddled up?

FiremanKing · 19/05/2019 22:22

I’m no fan of Pink but credit where credit is due her singing voice live is not that far off from her studio produced vocals

Who is PA? Can't figure it out.

I sing in an acapella choir and we do lots of work to avoid singing bum notes when you can't hear yourself - it's not easy and you need solid technique and it's a hobby for me. I thought she seemed nervous, which is surprising for a seasoned performer, but not unusual. She was out of tune in LaP, but she's never had the strongest singing voice and it has changed over the years. For me, it ruined a great song.

Someone mentioned Diana Ross upthread - she is another singer who doesn't have a particularly strong voice. What she does have is a distinctive voice, stage presence and star quality. I haven't heard her sing live anywhere for ages though.

Never could stand Madonna

FiremanKing · 19/05/2019 22:27

Gaga can belt out the National anthem better than most, well better than Fergie!

thenightsky · 19/05/2019 22:32

wowfudge I think PA is Peter Andre.

Kylie singing live makes up for a powerful voice with her charm and likeable personality.
