In really neat handwriting for someone so annoyed.

I promise that it is not my car, and I did not write the note.

That's polite!! Confused

WorraLiberty · 16/05/2019 17:21

It doesn't matter whether the grass seed was visible, surely?

Unless the grass verge was a designated parking space, they shouldn't have parked on it.

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/05/2019 17:21

They were obviously pissed off and trying not to offend. But they’ve done it anyway. I don’t think it was PA. more direct would have been better.

hullaballoonie · 16/05/2019 17:23

They're not very good at cutting though

XXVaginaAndAUterus · 16/05/2019 17:23

Swap you for the passive aggressive note I got because I'd parked legally on a street, but according to her it was blocking her driveway? What she meant was she wanted the bit of road in front of her house to park on herself. I walk past her house regularly, the temptation to glitterbomb her garden is high

greenlloon · 16/05/2019 17:25

are they allowed park on the grass?

Reallybadidea · 16/05/2019 17:25

DH found this on his car a few weeks ago. Not even passive aggressive, just plain aggressive Grin

FleurNancy · 16/05/2019 17:25

Surely all notes on windscreens are PA? Especially ones which start "I'm sure you're not an ignorant person..." but mean the exact opposite!

FleurNancy · 16/05/2019 17:26

Cross posted with the other. I'll rephrase my comment to all notes on cars are either passive aggressive or just plain aggressive!!

WorraLiberty · 16/05/2019 17:27

Surely all notes on windscreens are PA?

Why? How else are they going to pass a message on?

They can hardly hang about all day waiting for the driver? Confused

steff13 · 16/05/2019 17:28

Was there straw on top of the seed? Here, when people put down grass seed, they put straw on top to keep the birds from getting it. So bare dirt + straw = grass seed.

I've only ever parked on grass when I've been at a festival or concert where that was clearly where you were meant to park. If it was a neighborhood or a school or something I wouldn't just asusme it was ok to park on the grass. What sort of area was it?

oldwhyno · 16/05/2019 17:29

"ignorant person" "more consideration" "lack of thought" "more thoughtful".

More aggressive with a thin veil of politeness if you ask me.

FleurNancy · 16/05/2019 17:31

"Why? How else are they going to pass a message on?

They can hardly hang about all day waiting for the driver? "

But why would you need to leave a note on a car at all? Unless you'd hit it and were leaving your details. Surely the only other reason is to moan about something the driver has done and if they are careless enough to have done whatever it is in the first place then what difference does a note make?

Well in this case because you want them to stop parking on the grass seed.

As for what difference it makes, well that's up to the driver I suppose.

mellicauli · 16/05/2019 17:41

Passive-aggressive is an unassertive expression of negative sentiment. I think this is actually very assertive and expresses exactly what the writer wants to say and tries not to be aggressive or rude.

An example of passive-aggressive behaviour in this context might be to water the growing grass seeds around the car when you collected it in a laboured manner but not actually say what it was that was bothering you.

Having said that, I think the directness in this note is not something most English people would be comfortable with.

IvanaPee · 16/05/2019 17:46

@Reallybadidea did he park like a cunt though?

Lindtnotlint · 16/05/2019 17:53

The note is horrid and rude. “Hello, we are growing grass seeds in this spot and they don’t like having the light blocked by cars - would be really grateful if you could find another spot to park next time, Thanks!” is the sort of note I would call polite.

mouldyhousemouldylife · 16/05/2019 18:01

Why did you park on the grass?

Can you not read?

BarrenFieldofFucks · 16/05/2019 18:03

I know lots of roads here where parking up the verge is the norm, like parking up a pavement.

Reallybadidea · 16/05/2019 18:07

Dunno, I wasn't there. I've never known him park like a cunt before though.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 16/05/2019 18:12

I think the note is fine - nothing horrid or rude about it. Better than the parking ticket I recently got for parking on the verge...

steff13 · 16/05/2019 18:19

Do you really have to be polite to someone who's damaging your lawn? I would be, because I'm a bit of a mouse, but I wouldn't blame someone if they were more aggressive.

RubberTreePlant · 16/05/2019 18:27

If it was someone's lawn, they would have said so.

IvanaPee · 16/05/2019 18:54

What did he say about it?! I’m imaging if this happened to dh. I’d probably break my shite laughing 😂😂😂

NameChangedNoImagination · 16/05/2019 18:59

Passive aggressive AF. 'You have chosen' Grin

'There is grass seed here. Please could you avoid parking here in future. Thanks' would have been fine.
