I am an excellent baker. But I can’t make scones or brownies. I have given up on scones-ds can make them now. This is my last attempt at brownies. My Aga is heating. I have the Good Food recipe. All I need is your support.

I've found easy brownie recipes online and they're as easy as a store bought mix! Just cocoa powder or baking chocolate squares

WaxaCuntee · 14/05/2019 21:53

Thislido come back to thighland and make us some brownies with your special tin!

8FencingWire · 14/05/2019 22:37

Raw brownie is totally edible and definitely better with ice cream.

MollyHuaCha · 15/05/2019 19:58

A seriously disappointing thread. Sad

TrixieFranklin · 15/05/2019 20:01

frankie001 · 15/05/2019 20:23

This is a half baked thread...

I’ll get my coat.

thislido · 15/05/2019 20:54

There’s certainly not much to chew over Grin

I’ve got a baking occasion coming up, I might need to dig out the tin and Bake Along With Bertrand.

WaxaCuntee · 15/05/2019 20:57

Bertrand certainly hasn't got any brownie points on this thread! Grin

TrixieFranklin · 15/05/2019 21:01

GinIsHappiness · 15/05/2019 21:34

You can't tell us you're an amazing baker and not give up free tasters 😂😂

Come bake for me. I'm a fatty and want feeding 😂😂

managedmis · 15/05/2019 21:37

You haven't lined the tins properly, Bertrand. Poor show, really.

BagofTeeth · 15/05/2019 21:48

You've reminded me I forgot to buy the supplies for making them after discussing the Good Food recipe on the other thread. Oops.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 15/05/2019 21:58

my tip for scones is the Lemonade recipe

3 cups SR flour
1 cup lemonade
1 cup double cream

You can add a quarter cup of icing sugar if you like them sweet
half a cup of sultanas or cherries
or half a cup of grated cheese if you want them savoury

Put flour (and icing sugar if using) into a bowl, sieve it or not as you see fit. Now is where you would add any extras...just mix well into the flour.
Slosh in the lemonade and cream and use a knife to mix to a soft dough, you may need a little more lemonade if the flour is thirsty, you are looking for a soft but NOT wet dough

Gently work it into a circle about an inch and a half thick, just pat and turn round, don't use a rolling pin and then use cutters to cut them out, onto a floured tray and into oven till risen and golden.

Aimily · 15/05/2019 22:01

Brownies are the most difficult thing ever!! It's the only thing I will resort to buying a box kit to make 😭
However, blondes, easy peasy lemon squeezy!!

Can't wait to see the live thread when you are able to make them OP!!

ControversialFerret · 17/05/2019 18:17

They are in the oven. Have so far been in for 20 minutes but the wobble is still pretty pronounced and not just the middle....

Mind you, I had to go for the closest tin I had, which is 26 by 24 and batter was 3cm deep. And yes, I did have a tape measure Blush Grin

thislido · 17/05/2019 18:21

Ooooh!

ControversialFerret · 17/05/2019 18:22

Now out of the oven. Having checked my timings I was a bit off on my last post and I think they've been in for about 28 min. I suspect I may have let them go a bit too long as the wobble isn't that pronounced now. But we'll see when they are cool and I've cut them...

thislido · 17/05/2019 18:24

Probably perfect in my book. I hate brownies which are barely cooked in the centre, it's all about the slightly chewy texture for me. And don't get me started on icing on brownies...
