I work in one of the highest achieving primary schools in the country, and I know for sure that 8 year olds do not generally write like this. Occasionally a very gifted child comes along who can write well at an early age, but most can't. Bright children in our school might appear to be able to write in a similar way to this if you looked at their school books, but I assure you they will have had lots of support and adult input and the work will have drafted and re-drafed to reach this end point. This is because books are monitored so closely and compared to other schools and teachers and evidence of achievement and progress needs to be seen that teacher's daren't let children write at the actual level they are capable of independently.

The work the OP has posted only looks like a first draft of notes and was probably done entirely independently. The child does have some spelling issues, but the actual content is above what an average 8 year old (year3) could produce.

Agree with second poster, between 8 and 11 depending on ability/possibly SEN (dyslexia?).

OP said clearly in her second oat the child is in Year 7 - no need for further guesses
