Big bosomed problems! Recommend a good bra??

I have G cups. Dunno if I've just got weird shoulders but I'm fed up of bra straps falling off my shoulders. Also underwires that go under my armpit and dig in Angry

So... who makes good bras for big boobies that are either not underwired or just uncomfortable? Reasonably priced would be majorly appreciated too.

Not enough info. What is the back size as 32G is much smaller than 38G

NameChangeNugget · 12/05/2019 17:58

Bravissimo are great and in some styles, go up to a K

MyCatHogsTheBed · 12/05/2019 18:18

Back size 42. Tried going down a cup size etc. Defo need G, just not as wide as the underwires seem to think per cup!

Sadly I'm a definitely not Bravissimo. Got fitted in there, payed £40 ish iirc, the bra cut me to pieces then to add insult to injury self-destructed in my washing machine. Yes I know they say hand wash only but ain't nobody got time for that

I used to fit bras it’s more likely your wearing too big back size and need to go down in back up in the cup.

Look at Prima Donna bras they are specifically made for bigger bra size.

AnotherEmma · 12/05/2019 18:20

Are you dress size 22?
Your back size is unlikely to be 42.
Measure yourself using booborbust.com/ and then go to Bravissimo for a fitting.

BogglesGoggles · 12/05/2019 18:21

I don’t think you are fitted properly. You need to tighten straps recently as they stretch out. Fantasie bras are very comfy.

dementedpixie · 12/05/2019 18:22

Straps falling down suggest too big a back size. Have you tried measuring yourself under and over your bust to get an idea of size? Could you put your measurements here?

AnotherEmma · 12/05/2019 18:22

Cross post, advice still applies though.
I've bought some very well fitting bras in Bravissimo, occasionally bras that are too uncomfortable when I take them home and wear them for a bit, but I just return them - Bravissimo are good about returns.

VampireSlayer19 · 12/05/2019 18:22

Regard the washing we only sold hand wash bras and they are that for a reason - we always recommended taking into the shower with you and use body wash so doesn’t need to be done specially.

If you have a specialist product you need to wash it correctly- if you do will last years.

M&S are good for larger sizes to (they do machine washable ones to)

AnotherEmma · 12/05/2019 18:23

Oh and avoid Panache, the wires are rather brutal.
The Bravissimo own brand bras have more forgiving wires.
Fantaisie is OK too.

DXBMermaid · 12/05/2019 18:23

Prima Donna.
Freightfully expensive but the ONLY comfy bra's for me. Am a similar size (42H)
If you look after them and don't machine wash them/tumble dry them etc they can last a few years depending on how many you have on rotation.

dementedpixie · 12/05/2019 18:24

M&S miss out FF so you'd need to go up a cup size if you wanted bigger than that e.g. FF would be G, G would be GG

SurreyisSunny · 12/05/2019 18:26

Get yourself properly fitted at bravissimo. They don’t use a measuring tape. You maybe surprised what size you are.

When I first went there I was wearing a 36 back. They fitted me in a 30.

Alwaysgrey · 12/05/2019 18:27

I’m the same size 42G dress size 20/22. My bra straps also fall down and underwire dig in.

dementedpixie · 12/05/2019 18:27

She's already been to bravissimo and wasnt happy. What size did they say you were?

dementedpixie · 12/05/2019 18:29

You sound like you're in the wrong size too then. I'm a 36GG at size 20/22 (almost 16 stone)

Wheretheresawill1 · 12/05/2019 18:33

Bravissimo satine bra is my go to as it gives a nice shape

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 12/05/2019 18:45

I was going to suggest this bra. Unfortunately, it only goes up to 42E.

direct.asda.com/george/women/bras/non-wired-lace-trim-bra/GEM554109,default,pd.html?cgid=D1M18G2C1

They are so comfortable, non wired. I'm 38F so underwire is the bane of my boobs existance.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 12/05/2019 19:00

I’m a 40 back, J cup. Curvy Kate bras cut me to shreds, I seem to be stuck with a vile one from Debenhams as the only one I can reliably get.

My eldest is a 30ff, she’s stuck with one style of wonder bra at the moment.

Bras for people outside the narrow ‘norm’ range of sizes suck.

Brightbluegentian · 12/05/2019 19:03

I think I might have the same shoulders as you OP. The Triumph amourette is amazing. Perfectly comfortable all day everyday, so slippage issues, nice low underwires so no digging in.

I had exactly the same issues with bravissimo although I persevered with them for years.

I’m a 34 G and I can honestly say that these bras have been life changing.

palahvah · 12/05/2019 19:03

I would also recommend Priima Donna. The whole construction of the bras is better for larger sizes. You can't make good bras for big boobs by just taking something designed for a C cup and making it bigger.

wildhairdontcare · 12/05/2019 19:06

What clothes size are you @MyCatHogsTheBed ? I suspect your in entirely the wrong size bra.

Brightbluegentian · 12/05/2019 19:07

I recommend the bra fitting service at Fenwicks if you can get to one. Its the best I have tried..

BuildingQuote · 12/05/2019 19:08

I second Prima Donna -they really help me and Rigby and Peller told me I always need a balconette
