would you feel insecure against a beautiful but short(165cm and below)girl?
i am a 157cm tall , 55kg and always feel insecure about height. am i being silly?

Honestly, in my opinion as someone who is bi and likes tall women, nothing beats beautiful and over 5 ft 6. However, thankfully, everybody is different and beauty is subjective. For someone else petite might be the preferred option!

finnmcool · 05/05/2019 18:55

If you're insecure about yourself, it won't matter how tall you are.
FWIW op, I was always called the runt of the litter, my younger sister was taller than me, my boobs are the same level as my older sister's bum, I'm 5ft 2.
I'm comfortable in my own skin though.
Maybe work on being comfortable with yourself, instead of comparing yourself unfavourably.

SourPineApple · 05/05/2019 18:56

so you're asking if girls above 165cm can feel insecure of a 165cm and less girl if she's beautiful or do they assume she's automatically not a threat due to her height?

yes,

6ft 3 here. Loads of problems with clothesand shoes growing up and even now. Sister is 5 ft 8 and has a kuch easier time of it

Teddybear45 · 05/05/2019 18:58

@SourPineApple - agree with you there. If there are two equally beautiful girls, one tall another shorter, I really don’t think the taller one would view the shorter one as a threat.

SourPineApple · 05/05/2019 18:58

im trying to find out if height is a factor in looks or am i being silly?

But has more to do with our societal beauty standards. In asia it might be a different story!

FiremanKing · 05/05/2019 19:00

their height just gives me wobbly knees

Wear high heels.

maddieharrison · 05/05/2019 19:00

I'm literally five ft. My husband is 6,2. I always wear heels (I've had a baby in the last three months so only started to wear boots with heels in the last three weeks). To me it doesn't matter what height I am even though it bothered me a lot when I was younger. I think what's more important is dressing for your height and understanding what works for you.

Teddybear45 · 05/05/2019 19:00

It’s not a factor in looks, just confidence I think, because in the western world we value height and beauty. In Asia short, petite girls tend to be valued more.

FiremanKing · 05/05/2019 19:02

Lisa Bonet is 1.57m tall.

She’s bagged a couple of very hot men including her current husband.

Yummymummycupcake · 05/05/2019 19:02

Being tall doesn't make you more beautiful than a shorter woman and vice versa.
But I think a tall beautiful girl can be more striking than a short beautiful girl as they stand out more. I say this with past experience of the modelling industry. My height of 5'4 meant I was limited to glamour and beauty and not fashion.
People are attracted to all types of different things in real life, though so it doesn't really matter. Try to be less vain.

Msgiggles30 · 05/05/2019 19:03

I always hated being taller and would feel envious of my friends who were shorter and could wear nice heels etc so I think its just a confidence thing. Now im a bit older im more comfortable with myself and wouldnt think anything of it. So i think it works both ways if its something you feel insecure about

Pipandmum · 05/05/2019 19:04

I’m 5’11” and love being tall but have friends from 5’. I’ve never felt insecure. Can’t be ‘cute’ though at almost 6’!

IStillMissBlockbuster · 05/05/2019 19:10

I am 5 foot 9.5 and I feel like the BFG next to petite women. All the other women in my family are small in every way. I'm tall and because I am tall, I am bigger (size 12, they're size 8-10 but 5 inches shorter than me). I don't feel statuesque, Amazonian, like a model. I just feel big. So, standing next to you, I'd feel like an ungainly lump. Funny how insecurity works.

Finfintytint · 05/05/2019 19:10

I’m 5’2” and never felt insecure. My niece is 6’2” and doesn’t feel insecure either. Both confident women who realise height has got fuck all to do with anything really.

ive dated hot guys who are 180cm and one just one at 183cm but ive always ended up with 165-7 BFs as long term Smile

Oh ok, so I guess I've never really judged a girl by her height perhaps as it's not a hang up for me. I think if I've ever felt insecure against a woman it's because she's confident, commanding a room and funny. Something I'd notice and value more.

TitchyP · 05/05/2019 19:12

I'm 5 feet nothing, 45kg and never wear heels. I don't actually 'feel' short and am always surprised when I see pictures of myself with friends Grin I'm not sure what you're getting at really OP?

SourPineApple · 05/05/2019 19:16
