Volcano spot on my face!

bloatedbird · 23/04/2019 13:01

I'm 43 FFS .... and when I get a spot it's literally the size of a volcano.

It's angry, red and hurts.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

clean with witch hazel daily

Daffodil2018 · 23/04/2019 13:26

Put sudocrem or another thick cream on it at night and keep applying a hot flannel to try and draw it out. Some people also recommend applying a salicylic acid paste made out of aspirin and water - you’ll find the method if you google it. I haven’t tried this myself though.

Beanybye · 23/04/2019 14:28

They’re grim aren’t they. I get them too and I’ve thrown everything at them but truthfully nothing works, drawing it out as described above and then squeezing (making sure you get the little stone type core out) plus good concealer.

It that camera flash or a head on it?

If it’s come to a head I’d Lance it!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 23/04/2019 16:12

Numb it with an ice cube and lance it. That's what I'd do if I were you, but then I love watching Dr Pimple Popper.
Sensible people would go down the route of putting cream on it to draw it out.

IncognitaIgnorama · 23/04/2019 16:16

I had one similar but no sign of a head (or any gunk Angry) : I have one of the Neutrogena spot wand light things - usually, two zaps and they are gone, but this one took around five treatments over two/three days. If you are prone to these, they are well worth the investment (£19.99 in Boots right now) - they clear this type faster than anything else, and don't leave scars.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 23/04/2019 16:17

Is it a bite? That’s a strange place to have a whitehead.

TerryWogansWilly · 23/04/2019 16:21

Stick this over im sporners corner so they can all cheer you on as you pop it

AnnaMagnani · 23/04/2019 16:26

If that's the head, squeeze it.

Then Vichy Hyaluspot or one of the other salicyclic spot treatments until it understands to sod off.

FiremanKing · 23/04/2019 16:53

IncognitaIgnorama

A spot wand! That sounds fantastic. I’ve got to have one of those! Thank you.

CakeNinja · 23/04/2019 17:14

Oh that’s a beauty!!
Hold something warm on it, flannel or warm damp muslin cloth before hand.

Atalune · 23/04/2019 17:27

It’s not ready! You need to draw it out more, hot flannel and then clean fingers with tissue wrapped around. And squeeze, but only until the little hard kernel is out!!

Then wash it gently with water and stick a blob of e45 or similar on it.

bloatedbird · 23/04/2019 17:32

It's defo a spot and that is the head.

Every single month, same place on my face. The fucker never leaves me .....

I’ve ordered a neutrogena wand

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Targeted Acne Spot Treatment
Read more at www.boots.com/neutrogena-light-therapy-spot-treatment-10240509#Xth1K6TmEucfvo0Z.99

They are on eBay for less than Boots. But from a seller with good feedback etc.

IncognitaIgnorama · 23/04/2019 17:39

FiremanKing they are the bizz! I got one on a whim, and it took me ages to actually use it - but now? Well, the reason I know they're on offer atm as I couldn't find mine anywhere when the Volcano with no Head came - so I had to go and get another Grin But at least I have one for work and one for home now!

Pangur2 · 23/04/2019 17:42

I bought little green 1 use lance thingies. I think they are for diabetics to do blood tests but they are great for landing spots like this.

AnnaMagnani · 23/04/2019 17:46

Squeeze.

Then Vichy Hyaluspot every day. Have a look at Paula's Choice 2% BHA and Retinol and dry the bastard out. Also they make your skin look amazing so every cloud has a silver lining.

QueenBlueberries · 23/04/2019 17:47

Clarify something for me - same place every month? Like it never goes completely away? No alarm, but next time you go to your GP just mention it to her/him.

ImTheRealHFella · 23/04/2019 17:48

If it comes back it's not clearing.

Definitely try a spot wand once you've squeezed it. You need to get rid of the bacteria that are causing it. Salicylic acid on that area every day. Stop it returning!

SansasSnatch · 23/04/2019 17:49

Best spot pub ever! Sorry

SansasSnatch · 23/04/2019 17:49

Pic!

bloatedbird · 23/04/2019 18:06

@QueenBlueberries same place every month. It does completely go away, just returns angry & sore.

I also get another one sometimes on my chin same place.

Drinking alcohol makes it ten times worse

All of this happened when I turned 40.
