And what's your favourite brand? I've just run out of my Tesco own brand smooth - what should I buy next?

Crunchy

Smooth people are wrong

Jins · 30/04/2019 15:00

Skippy extra crunchy. Bought by the vat in Costco

HeronLanyon · 30/04/2019 15:02

Crunchy
In uk - Sunpat
In us - skippy
Have to Carne an s I to top when opening - bad luck of don’t. Old family tradition.
Have yet to find an organic/healthier peanut butter which come close to my faves.

Carve not Carne

LimeKiwi · 30/04/2019 15:26

Definitely crunchy, I don't understand smooth lovers! No crunch? What's that all about?!
"Yay, sloppy mess with all the crunch taken out!" Grin
Out of the jar with a spoon the best way to eat it

00100001 · 07/05/2019 15:58

HOW IS THIS STILL ON DISCUSSION OF THE DAY??? Confused

floribunda18 · 09/05/2019 10:21

Smooth. And lately I've converted to a whole foods one which is more runny like almond butter. You can't spread chunky stuff and it's too sugary and unhealthy to eat regularly. A complete waste of calories. You can also use the smooth one more easily for cooking and smoothies.

Ellabella989 · 09/05/2019 10:25

Meridian and I like crunchy best

Blobby10 · 09/05/2019 10:40

Definitely crunchy if its being eaten by the fingerful straight from the jar, or spoonful if being civilised or being eaten with celery. Smooth for spreading on stuff but it does taste different!!

My mum gave me some vegan peanut butter - which was delicious! nothing in it except peanuts.

Lozz22 · 09/05/2019 15:55

Smooth and has to have grape jelly with it

FoxFoxSierra · 09/05/2019 17:36

Crunchy, preferably slightly melted on toast. Smooth is pointless.

Blobby most peanut butter is vegan

HeronLanyon · 09/05/2019 18:27

Always crunchy. Skippy (us) or sunpat (us).
With either grape jelly (if In us and can get schmuckers) or recurrent jelly (in uk) or bicks green pickle ((us) or gherkins (uk).

Just found out about sun butter. Never tried. No substitute (I don’t have an allergy clearly) but intrigued.

icelollycraving · 09/05/2019 18:31

Sunpat crunchy and the new marmite one.

icelollycraving · 09/05/2019 18:31

Not sunpat, skippy. I don’t know why I wrote sunpat. Grin

DulcieRay · 09/05/2019 18:40

Smooth or crunchy, preferably Sunpat though
I find meridian separates and tastes grainy

Blueuggboots · 09/05/2019 18:49

Ohhhh smoooth....but I get outvoted for crunchy 😭😭

lazylinguist · 09/05/2019 18:54

I would once have said Meridian or Whole Earth. But there's one called Proper Nutty, made in Yorkshire, which makes all the others taste rubbish by comparison. They sell it in Booths, not sure if it's available elsewhere. It's neither smooth nor crunchy - they call it smunchy Grin and it's unbelievably delicious. No palm oil, no sugar, just nuts. You can get slightly salted or no salt versions.

flowery · 09/05/2019 19:19

I never see the point in smooth peanut butter. If you’re eating NUT-something, you want to crunch the actual nuts!

We have Whole Earth. DC sometimes want smooth so we usually have both.

EKGEMS · 09/05/2019 19:45

What is this Sophie's choice? They're both perfect in their own way!

yumyumpoppycat · 14/05/2019 20:18

crunchy - I like the ones that don't have sugar added - that morrisons one looks good will keep my eye out for that.

Stravapalava · 14/05/2019 23:49

Crunchy!!!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/05/2019 00:01

Waitrose wholenut. I think you can only get it in crunchy. They don't skin the nuts so it has a deeper flavour. I usually have that, and then a smooth as well, because sometimes I'll use smooth in cooking.

I love cashew butter, but it seems so expensive in comparison!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/05/2019 00:02

Actually, I used to live near a whole food shop where you could grind your own, all different nuts. Even more expensive nicer tasting.

Pipo174 · 15/05/2019 09:07

My people! :D
Pip and Nut for me. Crunchy!
A scoop into a majoole date, amazing snack!

Loyaultemelie · 15/05/2019 10:46

Crunchy preferably Sainsbury's but also Lidl
