Anyone know where I can find the volume switch for a boy 2009 edition? He doesn't seem to have come with one as standard fitting?

He appears to be getting louder and louder and I have a headache. The "shhhhh... ya mams got a headache" option is not working. Either has "MiniGin? Volume down"

Tried rebooting him lastnight but that hasn't made a difference.

He's 10 yrs old this Saturday do I need to update him with some software? Just other than the volume and general wallyness he is working relatively well.

TIA

We have a very old patriarchal model here who seems to have reading optical attachments in every room and on every surface and still can’t find a set when he needs one. I have the dubious good fortune of needing optical support at all times so I don’t get this annoying but traumatic occurrence. Though it’s not unknown for me to find mine disappear down the side of the docking station while I’m having an overnight energy boost.

Just to warn those with newer models that as they get older and interface with opposite models eg F model meets M model, the manual does not prepare you for how to deal with "in love" or "I hate him!" modes which alternate hourly Hmm

Hoppinggreen · 15/04/2019 20:56

Yes, we appear to have acquired a M model that’s not part of the set.
It appears to have attached itself to our F model in the last month or so and now both units spend a lot of time in adjacent positions on the sofa ( but not too close as they are still relatively new models and are not encouraged to switch to unaccompanied mode)

Hoppinggreen are both models aware of how to use fire sticks safely and potential viruses should they decide to pair sucessfully in the future 😬😁

she when I attempted to check this with the F unit it’s visual interface contracted and it went “ew disgusting “ so I think I don’t have to have any concerns about that for a while

2009m model seems to be working ok when connected to the internet constantly updating. Does not do well outside feel he must of missed a nature update. Rectifying this issue with 2019 camping upgrad.

2011f model is getting grumpier and grumpier as it ages I feel teen update is trying to prematurely be installed have to keep hitting remind in 4 years time.

2016f model still runs like a dream though, cute and sensitive.

1991f model could do with a slimmer case and memory upgrade.

We've only got relatively new models here (2014M and 2017F). The 2014M appears to be stuck on continuous output of random Lego facts at medium volume, but the 2017F volume controller seems to be set on a completely different scale and never gets below high volume. There also seems to be a compatability problem when both units are in "play" or "clean" cycles in the same space which results in both units emitting high pitched high volume squeals of NOT FAIR within seconds. I'm not sure which unit upgrades might help with this, though sending them to their individual docking stations often helps if the 2014M docking station can be reached through the sea of Lego

Hoppinggreen visual interface 🤣🤣🤣

Holiday mode seems to have been installed overnight in the 2005M it has just rebooted from sleep mode at 14.40. It is now plugged in to the iPhone extension pack. No noise is emitting yet but think noise and lights may start to function when further fuel is delivered shortly.

purpleweasel · 17/04/2019 14:51

My 2016F version is currently stuck on repeat mode, and appears to want me to press the "Y" key. Recent "TT" upgrade hasn't sorted this issue but has introduced a Random Tantrum mode which aims to keep you on your toes by not knowing what will set it off this time. On the plus side the unit appears to be taking a great interest in the toilet so hopefully self-cleaning subroutine will soon become established

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 17/04/2019 15:20

Our 1996F model recently self-copied, and her 2017M model is at the stage where it confuses the coal scuttle with the toy box. It also hasn't fully installed the verbal interface, but prefers to communicate through white noise, laughing immoderately and random waste ejection.

Loving this thread! My favourite on chat this year Smile

2006F version requires expensive dance shoes and equipment for day to day operation, yet school holiday mode appears to magnetise her to an armchair and laptop. Incompatible programming there.

Also has watched-too-much-YouTube update causing narration of life when not attached to armchair/laptop combo. Grateful for the earplug extension mentioned previously.

Loving the slimmer case and memory upgrade too, my own memory is certainly accessed randomly ATM!

Sorry OP the 2009 edition of boy is known for this fault. Mine has problems processing sound so is louder so he can hear himself. He makes up for it though by having the incredibly cuddly and loving glitch. However I’m sure in a couple of years the automatic sullen and grump update patch will come in and I’ll have to do some major reprogramming for my own sanity.
