Leaving baby sleeping whilst in the garden

I have an 8 month old DD. Now that the weather is getting nicer I want to spend more time out in the garden. I can't decide whether it is ok to leave DD sleeping in her room whilst I'm outside. At the moment, if I need to be in the garden I either put her in her pushchair or car seat (I have a lie flat one).

If I left her indoors, she'd be in her cot in her room which is on the ground floor. Her room is at the back of the house. I'd lock the back door (it's on the side of the house so can't be seen from the garden). I also have a baby audio monitor I could use.

Is it ok to leave her sleeping while I'm in the garden? I read so many posts on here about people leaving baby to sleep whilst they pop to the corner shop and would never do that. I just can't decide whether this is ok though.

Thanks

Did I actually read that someone (flamingo) say that the op should call the health visitor 😂😂? For what!?

I totally would. Would use our monitor but have it so it only comes on if baby cries and set it to loud.

Oh no wait, I totally wouldn't as DS won't nap in cot 😅

In case the unattended baby turns into a fucking gecko, climbs the window with its sticky feet and gets on the roof.

Of course if you use a monitor. Although I used to put Ds to sleep in the garden, when he always slept longest. That way I could see him while I was outside.

Everyone go and watch your babies....SIDS happen if you aren’t watching every breath!

Nasty stupid comment there battle

Likethebattle · 16/04/2019 07:44

i’m just taking the rip out of the ridiculous suggestion that unless you watch every breath you risk SIDS. That not how it happens.
