When did you first find grey hairs?

Turned 43 last week and literally noticed 6 or so grey hairs appear in the last 3 weeks- had dyed hair since I was 14 and growing out blonde and left with very fucking dull mousey hair - I know I've lucky with no greys until now but shit, they are multiplying rapidly!

Did your grey hairs appear overnight?

Mid to late twenties. I dye it because I suit dark hair better and prefer it on me but I think now (age 32) it would be about 25% grey. Blonde friends seem to go grey later but think partly just less obvious than us brunettes!

HotChocolateLover · 08/04/2019 21:23

I’m 35 and my DS noticed one the other week 😥😥 I fixed him with a beady stare and told him i’d ‘Dyed it’ 😂😂

VelvetB · 08/04/2019 21:36

The week after I had my first baby at 25, I'm now 36 and mostly white under the hair dye!

On my 26th birthday 😒 well I'm 34 now and I've maybe got about 5 or 6 that I pull out when they grow bk 😂 my mum is in her 50's and doesn't have loads so hopefully I'll be the same 🤞🏻

notacooldad · 08/04/2019 21:44

I'm nearly 54.
I have no greys on my head. I've two in my eyebrows though. They are annoying.

LBOCS2 · 08/04/2019 21:52

In my late teens. I'm in my earlyish 30s now and I'm about a third grey.

seven201 · 08/04/2019 21:56

17, I'm 36 now and am probably 40% -50% grey. I have dark brown hair so it really shows up too. I dye it.

rosinavera · 08/04/2019 22:02

19! :-(

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 08/04/2019 22:10

I'm 47 and have about two or three; otherwise, still brunette and long may it last...

DeadCertain · 09/04/2019 09:10

I am 42 very soon and have just noticed my first (I have dark brown hair).

HowlsMovingBungalow · 09/04/2019 11:04

Shock to those who had grey hairs in teens and early 20s!
I will shut up about greying in my 40s - seems there are few of us that got this far without them.

"Shock to those who had grey hairs in teens and early 20s!"

I think we all have bits that drop off and break as we get older, it's just the order in which they drop off and break that varies Smile

KnittingSister · 09/04/2019 11:31

HowlsMovingBungalow that was supposed to be a smiley grin SmileGrin

HowlsMovingBungalow · 09/04/2019 11:32

Very true KnittingSister!

My hair has kept its colour but my uterus gave up the ghost in my 30s! Grin

I was 21. Spent years having it highlighted but I’ve stopped dying and embracing my white temples and silver sparkles at 34.

Roomba · 09/04/2019 11:36

40 - just a couple at the front in my hairline. Two years later and a couple more have appeared spread throughout - easy to spot as there's just one white hair at a time among the brown. My mother is 70 next year and still has mostly brown hair with a sprinkle of grey throughout, so maybe it's genetic. My grandmother dyed her hair jet black until she died in her 90s so no clues there!

I was chatting to my kids about it the other day, as their stepmother told them she started getting white hair at age 13. She had a lot of grey hair when I was at uni with her and by 30 her hair was completely white. She's always dyed it but has pure white roots in between - she'd look amazing if she grew it out actually, gorgeous thick, curly, shiny hair (not like my fine, crap hair, I'm jealous!)

TiredTodayZzzz · 09/04/2019 11:37

I found one single white hair when I was 20 and pregnant. Nothing more until I was pregnant again at 25 and they started coming in and haven't stopped 2 years later. I don't know if the pregnancy thing was just coincidence but I like to blame it on that! I have black hair and they come in pure white.

MillicentMartha · 09/04/2019 11:38

Found my first at around 19 or 20. Started dyeing it at 30 and stopped a couple of years ago. I quite like it now. White at the front and grey/brown at the back. A bit piebald pony!

When did you first find grey hairs?
FuckASilverLining · 09/04/2019 11:38

A few days ago. Found my first. Am 34.

Sawyershair · 09/04/2019 11:38

35 and I have none

My mum is 52 and has none, dad is 53 and has grey on the sides but that’s it

GoldenGumballs · 09/04/2019 11:40

16 Sad my friends were horrified. Nearly 51 and been dying all these years think I’m 80% white and wondering whether to stop the battle & grow it out. My natural hair was dark glossy brunette but not seen it for yonks.

amusedbush · 09/04/2019 11:42

I'll turn 29 next month and I haven't found any (dark brown hair).

My mum didn't get any greys until she was in her late 40s though, so I live in hope. Even at 55 she only has a few white hairs around her temples.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 09/04/2019 11:42

Grin @ piebold pony.
