Family are all out to dinner, I'm too I'll to go and instead moping and feeling sorry for myself alone on the sofa.

Please recommend a good film on Netflix (not a series, a film pls)

PS. I don't do rom-com's/chick-flicks, or gratuitous violence (e.g.. Saw and the like) but anything else is fine.

Thanks

Dumpling if u haven't already seen it

amiw · 07/04/2019 13:14

Ghostbusters

Worlds0kayestmum · 07/04/2019 13:15

Oh yes I really enjoyed Dumpling

Langrish · 07/04/2019 13:17

Not sure if it’s on Netflix, it is on Amazon: but Bohemian Rhapsody. Didn’t want to watch it, they all did. Loved it. Heartwarming and will cheer you up. Bet you don’t recognise Mike Myers.

MGgirl · 07/04/2019 13:20

Lion, Belle, The Boy who harnessed the wind

MGgirl · 07/04/2019 13:21

Swimming with Men

Squeegle · 07/04/2019 13:22

Have you ever seen 10 things I hate about you? Just the thing. Don’t know if it’s on Netflix.
Alternatively Line of Duty!

MockerstheFeManist · 07/04/2019 13:23

The Happy Prince, Rupert Everett's labour of love about Oscar Wilde's last days in Paris.

LittleAndOften · 07/04/2019 13:25

I don't know if they're still on netflix but Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Moonrise Kingdom and The Way Way Back are all awesome. Fun, quirky, lighthearted and original.

NoFancyUserName · 07/04/2019 13:26

I have Amazon too
Dumplin' sounds like a chick flick - a teen entering a beauty pageant who's mum is a former beauty queen....

Not sure if it's on Netflix but should be on All 4 if not - Three Identical Strangers, an amazing documentary about triplets separated as babies.

NoFancyUserName · 07/04/2019 13:28

Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Ive seen that one, absolutely loved it!

GottaGetUp · 07/04/2019 13:29

What kind of thing do you like? Get Out is on Netflix and is very good, but creepy/tense/horror-y, not sure if it’s sickbed stuff?

GottaGetUp · 07/04/2019 13:31

Grand Budapest Hotel is very silly and fun.

LittleAndOften · 07/04/2019 13:31

Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Ive seen that one, absolutely loved it!

Then the other 2 I said will be right up your street. I hope they're available!

wobblebot · 07/04/2019 13:33

I feel pretty - it's hilarious!!

SimplyPut · 07/04/2019 13:37

Ideal home. Paul Rudd and Steve Coogan play gay grandparents.

NoFancyUserName · 07/04/2019 13:43

I've seen Get Out and was disappointed with it. The end was such a let down.

Am adding a lot of these suggestioms to My List though

LittleAndOften those other two aren't on Netflix Sad will check Amazon

@NoFancyUsername that is annoying. Hail Caesar? Again quirky, not sure it completely hangs together but some brilliant, hilarious stand out scenes, especially Ralph Fiennes who is a comedy genius.

MrsBertBibby · 07/04/2019 13:50

Bridesmaids is hilarious, as is The Heat.

Ginger1982 · 07/04/2019 13:50

Sully? Watched it last night and it was good.

LittleAndOften · 07/04/2019 13:53

@MrsBertBibby speaking of Melissa Mccarthy, Spy is brilliant.

TSSDNCOP · 07/04/2019 13:57

Apollo13 and Burdbox are both on Netflix.

FindPrimeLorca · 07/04/2019 13:58

Some Like It Hot never gets old
Spy is a cracking lying on the sofa movie.
I quite enjoyed Isn’t It Romantic which is a “have its cake and eat it” romcom spoof on romcoms.
Lord of The Rings is on Netflix atm and would keep you going all day
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is great if you’ve seen the first one but presumably incomprehensible if you haven’t.

FifisLovelyApron · 07/04/2019 14:03

I liked Unicorn Store.
