So I have 15 years in the job. I was in child protection but since having dcs I’m basically a glorified call centre worker. I’ve got to leave the job but I feel like I don’t have any transferable skills. I’m looking for any ideas/inspiration. Ideally I would want to be part time but am open to full time working options... basically I’m desperate!! Help me leave!!

@zippyswife Yes the title was 'private investigator' for a private investigation company.

However I'm not a private investigator. I am an investigation officer. There are loads of companies and organisations who need investigative skills and you don't have to have necessarily worked as a detective. Examples of companies and organisations I found: NCA, IOPC, GMC, various civil service departments, insurance companies. There's loads and as I say I found my job by signing up to 'Indeed ' and 'Reed' looking for investigator roles.

DS left the police and is now working for HMRC around the import and export of firearms. He wasn't in firearms in the police. Earns twice as much, though it's still shift work. It's working to insure firearms aren't illegally exported to enemy countries.

I became a HSE Inspector. Didn't love it.

Now work in prison intelligence.

Massively outing, but hey ho!

I work in finance and know a number of ex police who now work in financial crime and /or compliance.
