Things that make you ask why? WHY?

Mine is people who select the 'receipt' option at a cashpoint and then walk away leaving it hanging out of the machine. Why? WHY?

Nylon clothes. I just want cotton ffs. Fast fashion also gives me the rage. Those damn peplum tops that even the charity shops can't shift will soon be joined by the cold shoulder tops.

llangennith · 31/03/2019 23:19

PippaPepperpot do you go to a barbers in Penarth?

sushisuperstar · 31/03/2019 23:34

Why do people enjoy being shouted at to booming shit music? (I'm referring to spin classes at gyms lol)

sushisuperstar · 31/03/2019 23:37

And...

High waisted trousers. Why??!

MsMustDoBetter · 31/03/2019 23:38

Why do we accept rapists, perverts and paedophiles as inevitable by products of masculinity?

Why?

YesQueen · 31/03/2019 23:42

@sushisuperstar I can kind of answer that one Grin it's like yoga for me
I don't like yoga. Booming spin class is my mediation because my brain can't think about anything else except why am I so sweaty/is this over yet/I can't breathe/who invented this torture. And then it's over and it's like I'm in my happy place Confused

People who don't use nouns in meetings when I have to take the minutes.

"so Sandra has the update..."
"oh yes, we had to delay because of the audit but Tuesday is looking good."
"great i'll email it out Tuesday aft."

Please use a noun! I can't do my job without nouns!

sushisuperstar · 31/03/2019 23:45

😁 I hate really loud noise - I reckon that's why I avoid it. I do like hard core cardio but not being shouted at at the same time. I'm in a budget gym so when it's on it's often close to the other machines so I can hear GI joe shouting and I'm like a cat in a hot tin roof 🤣

The woman who gets on my bus home every night, then keeps looking out of the back window. Then gets off after about 4 stops to catch the bus after ours. Why not just wait 5 minutes for the bus you actually want?

She's having an affair with someone from work. They get the bus behind. They can't be seen near work getting it together so they pretend to get separate buses, then she joins the other person 4 stops or so later when it's all clear. Probably overactive imagination.

Because I'm fat and lazy and I need to be shamed into exercising Grin

My WHY of today is:

Baking/cooking blogs or sites, which when posting a new recipe will start off by thanking their subscribers and supporters, go on about some vague challenges they're facing in their lives right now, and then write several long paragraphs on the epic, emotional journey they had birthing this cake and how they ended up using just these ingredients in just these amounts and where they went and bought them and why. This will then be followed by step-by-step pictures of the making of the cake with more unnecessary waffling on. Only at the very bottom of the page, when I've nearly lost the will to scroll, will there be an actual recipe. WHY are you doing this? I'm much less likely to bake (or even read) your recipes like this. No one cares about emotional journey. We're only here because this is the top result on Google for "12 layer chocolate cake". Just give us the recipe first and instructions underneath, and if you absolutely must, the other bits at the end. Just WHY?!

I admit this is not a big problem to have... Blush

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 01/04/2019 10:44

People who use a different colour foundation to their neck and then don't blend it in! Resulting in a muddy brown mask Gin

havingtochangeusernameagain · 01/04/2019 10:47

Also on the list of first world problems is when I see that a post on Facebook has lots of comments and think they will be interesting to read and then see that all the comments are only people tagging their friends. So disappointing and boring.

wanderings · 01/04/2019 10:54

Why half-visible trainer liners, half in and half out? Either wear socks proudly, or wear none at all. (I'm in the wear none at all camp, but I know lots of people would ask why!)

kelper · 01/04/2019 11:02

Why does the man next door use my driveway to turn round in?! He has his own perfectly good driveway that he parks on!

thenightsky · 01/04/2019 12:27

WhatNowRandy Agree completely. Googled alfredo sauce yesterday. Had to wade through loads of crap text about how it was her mother's favourite sauce yadda-yadda. Finally found the recipe about a mile down the page! I've written it out in long hand now so I don't have to look at all the crap.

MatchSetPoint · 01/04/2019 14:33

My son fell over at a soft play on Saturday and a lady asked if he wanted a bunch of wet wipes to hold on his ear, he wasn’t bleeding or anything, I know she was being kind but why the hell would he want wet wipes to hold on his ear, why?

HolyForkingShirt · 01/04/2019 15:32

Khaki clothes - it's literally the colour of the sludge around my plughole. WHY is it so trendy?!?

ChopinIn10Minuets · 01/04/2019 15:35

False pockets. Can't you tightarse designers put a real one in?

HolyForkingShirt · 01/04/2019 15:40

@WhatNowRandy, I totally agree! I always scroll straight past all that waffle and 20 photos of the finished meal at the beginning. Who actually enjoys reading that crap?!

ChopinIn10Minuets · 01/04/2019 15:46

Why there always has to be one detergent pod burst at the bottom of the bag EVERY time!!!

Yeah, and on that theme there's always at least one rotten clementine in the net, bruised apple in the bag or collapsed crisp packet in the multipack. Angry

pheonixrebirth · 01/04/2019 15:48

I too find the conveyer belt situation absolutely boils my piss! Wait for me to finish then proceed but in the meantime- feck off!!!

I always found that hard joyfullittlehippo, I did need to use 'discrete' quite a bit (as in 'discrete data sets' or 'discrete samples') and completely overthought about which was the right spelling and generally ended up with the wrong one. Just a bit of a mental block about it.
