My baby is growing faster than I can buy clothes for him!
I did start off spending a fair bit until I realised he gets 1 weeks wear out if everything !

eBay bundles for the win!

GMtoBe · 30/03/2019 20:50

I'd second ebay bundles. Got some great stuff for dd on ebay!

ParisWilton · 30/03/2019 20:53

Mostly charity shops and nearly new sales. If I need new things I tend to buy from Boots, Tesco or Sainsburys as I get the advantage/clubcard/nectar points and there's often sales and discounts on too.

Yep eBay bundles here too! Also Sainsbury's and Tesco both do decent stuff. H&M is good too.I refuse to spend the kind of money they charge in places like JoJo Maman Bebe and the like.

PrtScn · 30/03/2019 20:55

Usually M&S, their sizing comes out slightly larger than other brands so get more wear out of them and they are good quality. They have regular sales. We’ve been bought a load of clothes as well which is handy.
I’d be quite happy to go down the second hand route but my OH is funny about things like that, and doesn’t like the idea. Since it’s mostly him that does the clothes shopping I leave him to it!

Parker231 · 30/03/2019 20:57

How old is he? I kept mine in baby grows until they were about seven months. I got given some brilliant ones from frugi and bought others from gap, John Lewis and M&S.

happytobemrsg · 30/03/2019 20:57

George at Asda, Matalan, Tesco, Sainsbury’s

Mumshappy · 30/03/2019 20:58

Next, sainsburys (sales) and loads of hand me downs from my nephew. Im about to splurge on a joules jacket though now hes nearly one. I cant resist.

Andonandonan · 30/03/2019 21:03

Frugi, boden, John Lewis & Sainsbury’s are my go tos.

Less frugi & more boden as they’ve got older, plus H&M for basics / play wear.

MaryBoBary · 30/03/2019 21:14

I used H&M and Asda for everyday stuff. Next and M&S for a few nicer bits.

Amimissingsomethinghere · 30/03/2019 21:31

JoJo Mama, Trotters, John Lewis, Petit Bateau ... But I am really fussy with what he wears! It has to be really traditional! Halo

sirmione16 · 30/03/2019 21:31

I found my favourite pieces in supermarkets. Boys stuff is so hard to find!! I seethe when I walk into a shop with a whole section for girls and one tiny display rack for boys. How unimaginative. Makes me angry thinking about it. PS joules have outlets for the pp - maybe worth looking for it there a tiny bit cheaper? :)

AlfieandAnnieRose · 30/03/2019 21:37

Local Facebook selling sites for bundles. Also local baby and children’s markets are the best places for clothes and toys or NCT sales. You can get some absolute bargains!

AlfieandAnnieRose · 30/03/2019 21:41

Sirmione16 I noticed that in Tesco today. Wall to wall pink baby and toddler girls clothes and the boy clothes were on two rack things in the middle! 🙄

mynameisMrG · 30/03/2019 21:44

@alfieandannierose it’s a disgrace isn’t it. I’ve really gone off Tesco for that reason, the boys choice is so poor compared to the girls. I nearly complained when I was in there (and feeling sleep deprived!). I now buy DS clothes from Asda. Never had a problem and they sell online.

Purpletigers · 30/03/2019 22:25

My baby isn’t a baby anymore but I bought a lot of next and m and s for him . Especially little all in one soft dungarees. I discovered Boden when he was about 2 and he’s been wearing mostly Boden since then . I buy in the sales or with vouchers etc . Latest bargain was a shirt for 40p . I had a £10 off voucher and the shirt was in clearance . If you can afford to , buy in the sales one size up and out of season . So many bargains around .

EdtheBear · 30/03/2019 22:30

Mainly Next here. Partly because it's nearest.
Totally agree boys have duff choices.

GirlGang89 · 30/03/2019 22:31

eBay bundles are amazing like others have said yes - can’t be bothered with Facebook sale groups as unless you’re on your phone 24/7 you never manage to get anything good I find (not in my area anyway).
I would say 75% of my girls clothes (3y and 13m) is stock piled from next sales then I top up with H&M (again normally sale/offer stuff then Sainsbury’s/Asda’s. If you’re unsure how long baby is going to last in things just buy basics from supermarkets and don’t buy anything ‘season specific’... also I know others who have cut the feet of baby grows for in the house if their LOs are growing too quick length ways because no one sees it anyway! Xx

skankingpiglet · 30/03/2019 22:32

When mine were babies I bought mostly good quality brands (Boden, Frugi, Bluezoo, John Lewis etc) from eBay, Facebook, and nearly new sales with a few 'nice' bits bought new in the sales, then basics (eg white vests, socks etc) from the supermarkets. The better quality brands I've found have lasted through 2 DCs despite being bought 2nd hand, and in a number of cases have been in good enough condition to sell on again.

Mine are now 4yo and 2yo. 4yo gets mostly good quality brands new, bought a year ahead in the summer & winter sales, leggings come new as needed from H&M or similar, and a few good quality/condition second hand bits from nearly new sales/eBay/hand me downs from friends. I rarely buy supermarket stuff for her as is just doesn't last a year+ on her then another year+ on her sister plus supermarket clothes never fit her skinny hips
2yo gets her sister's stuff, plus a few extra second hand bits, plus the odd new item to replace things that have worn through. I will sometimes get 2yo new bits from a supermarket if it's something she'd really love, as it only needs to make through 1 child.

Newyearnewunicorn · 30/03/2019 22:36

Morrison’s mainly, some from Asda, M&co and M&S

MissKenton · 30/03/2019 22:40

M&S
Mothercare
Boden
H&M
La redoute
Next
Baby Baker
John Lewis

PippilottaLongstocking · 30/03/2019 22:43

H&M for basics. I like bright colours and nice woollens so will find a brand I like then search it on eBay and selling pages for it

Ribbonsonabox · 30/03/2019 22:47

H&M are pretty good... fairly durable and quite stylish but still reasonably cheap.

poglets · 30/03/2019 23:35

Second hand
John Lewis in the sale - I cant beat their cords for boys
Odd shops I see very occasionally
I try to avoid it now as I spent too much when they were younger.

student26 · 31/03/2019 07:54

Generally charity shops but lots and lots in Tesco sales too. I’ve had some wonderful second hand pieces.
