If you were 50+ and a size 14/16, what would you wear to a rave?!

As we are going to one in about a month. It's a 45th birthday party and it's a proper full on rave, not fancy dress.

Confused

Have a look at the rest. I adore their stuff.

Older than you. Never invited to raves

HebeMumsnet · 29/03/2019 11:40

Go comfy OP. Wear enough day-glo and LED accessories over whatever outfit you pick and everyone will be blinded and unable to see your outfit anyway.

Hardcore. You know the score. Wink

PAHAHAHAHA! (We also will be needing photos, BTW, OP).

Politicalacuityisathing · 29/03/2019 11:46

No to jumpsuit! I am assuming you owe more than you did in your late teens/early 20s?! High waist jeans with a bit of stretch, loose t-shirt or cotton shirt and funky accessories. Stan Smiths perfect! And a whistle.

Politicalacuityisathing · 29/03/2019 11:46

*pee more not owe...

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 29/03/2019 11:53

Luminous exercise gear.

Bedsidedrawer · 29/03/2019 11:59

Where's your sense of fun Mumsnet!
Wear what the hell you like and go and party like it's 1994 Grin

Reach for the lasers, OP.

CakeNinja · 29/03/2019 14:04

Oh my god, I’m suggesting a dressing gown and an early night - I don’t even own a dressing gown Grin
I’m 33 and would have turned this down in a heartbeat and I love going out! Good on you - you’ll probably end up having a bloody brilliant night, it tends to be the way when you’re not really looking forward to something.
No suggestions from me, I haven’t been to a rave since I was about 19 and able to fit into hotpants without exposing an acre of wobbly thigh and a dayglo crop top.

3boysandabump · 29/03/2019 14:13

How odd that they're having a party for their 45th birthday.

Another vote for a jumpsuit or boiler suit if you want to be authentic 🤣

Fightthebear · 29/03/2019 14:15

Jeans ( if reasonably up to date), top, small cross body bag, Stan Smiths & some pro plus sounds perfect.

Fightthebear · 29/03/2019 14:17

That was pretty well what I wore first time round Grin

ThroughASashWindow · 29/03/2019 14:20

Whatever the hell I wanted because I would be beyond giving a fuck (I'm there). Go, wear what you love, and have fun.

Fazackerley · 29/03/2019 14:25

3boys she's been ill and is now better so I guess it's a celebration she wants to have now.

I would have worn a black crop top under a little black dress that had tiny stars on it and thin straps..big woolly jacket sticky with beer as I used to shove it behind the pinball machine rather than have to stand in the coat queue

Ledkr · 29/03/2019 14:27

I reckon it will be amazing.
Wear some jeans boots and a couple of layers in top.
Think festival chic.
A cross body bag for all your stuff.

Mildmanneredmum · 29/03/2019 14:27

Don't forget the shewee
