Octopus Energy, good value and an excellent call centre. Also very quick to respond to email.

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 27/03/2019 20:38

Ao.com

Used to go to John Lewis for my white goods. Ao delivery is excellent - you don’t have to stay at home all day!

Hoosey · 27/03/2019 20:43

John Lewis are my number 1.
Tesco
Amazon
Ella’s Kitchen
Argos

Mothercare are horrendous, I won’t be buying anything from them.

Another vote for First Direct - a real person answers after a couple of rings! And they know their stuff.

Also Dyson - a woman on the phone talked me through fixing an issue with our cordless vac, she was on speaker phone saying "the bit that looks like a cauliflower? Bang it harder! Till no more dust comes out of it, keep going!" And sent a part out next day free of charge. Really good.

Taffeta · 27/03/2019 20:46

First Direct

I've found a John Lewis arrogant and sloppy for the past year.

DramaAlpaca · 27/03/2019 20:47

Lakeland are excellent.

I refitted my dads kitchen and brought many appliances from AO they were indeed fine

DixieLandReject · 27/03/2019 20:49

Emirates. I needed to change the date of a holiday which I had booked and they did it free of charge without me needing to ask.

ItsOnlyAToySpider · 27/03/2019 20:50

Tommee tippee are amazing. I'd heard good things about them before I had a child and had good experiences with them when I had my own child.

Amazon are really good too. I feel sorry for their staff though, they all sound so bright and happy and really go out of their way to solve your problems sometimes. It must be stressful to keep that up all day, constantly, call after call.

Brabant is replaced the lid of my kitchen bin for free, even though I'd had it 10 years!

17CherryTreeLane · 27/03/2019 20:51

Brabantia even

Another vote for First Direct. When I was heavily pregnant I had severe baby brain and forgot all my passwords and memorable words, pins and answers to security questions 😂 bloke on the phone was great and sorted me out. I tweeted them when I had DS to say please say thanks to the bloke and they sent me and DS a big hamper out! They are great.

jinglewithbellson · 27/03/2019 20:57

Sketchers shoes were brilliant when an expensive pair of pumps for my dd started to peel at the sole and sides after a few weeks.
I emailed them with pictures and they didn't hesitate to replace and we even got a 50% off another pair voucher.

Ao were brill.

B and q when we bought and fitted our kitchen from them.

Found Sainsbury's not good when a Xmas home delivery had 3 desserts all dated Boxing Day and non freezable Hmm
I messaged them and I got a £10 gift card which didn't even cover the price of one dessert

I have a few different bank accounts, business and a couple of personal ones. I find Yorkshire Bank absolutely outstanding especially compared to Halifax, who we also hold personal accounts with.

Had to change my name recently due to marriage. In and out in 10 minutes with Yorkshire bank, was out as my appointment officially started as I was early.

35 mins after walking into Halifax (couldn't make an appointment) I was finally seen then a huge fuss and kerfuffle changing ot over and taking copies of ID. I have an overdraft with them that will be paid off in April then I am switching. Useless.

I like AO too, and also ITs tools, we order online and it's pretty efficient and we had an issue with something 2 years old. They took it back, did a full service and repair free and then sent it back out with 4 days. Fab service.

In store our local Aldi, M and S and Wilcos are amazing. Tesco staff are useless at best, rude at worst.

Blibbyblobby · 27/03/2019 21:00

Jet2. Budget airline but really pleasant, efficient staff, makes the journey much more pleasant than their competitors.

slipperywhensparticus · 27/03/2019 21:05

The Tesco's online once insisted I took a cat food can back to the shop I complained that they delivered it dented and the seal was broken bacteria obviously got in and the stench was appalling so I triple wrapped it and shlepped to the store for a replacement I got there and said dont open it but they told me to bring it she was unimpressed with them and got me my replacement slang the manky can in the skip!

TroysMammy · 27/03/2019 21:05

Trago Mills Merthyr. I live 40 miles away and on my first visit bought loads of things. When I got home I saw I had been charged twice for one item. I made a telephone call and spoke to a lovely member of staff who refunded my credit card immediately.

TemporaryPermanent · 27/03/2019 21:05

The Gainsborough Hotel in Bath. Unbelievable service (admittedly about 200% over my usual budget, paid for by someone else).

The Copthorne Hotel in Slough. OK business/budget hotel, dubious food, absolute gold star service in hotel and restaurant.

Millie2013 · 27/03/2019 21:15

AO were really kind to my recently bereaved mum when delivering a replacement freezer. They then sent her a lovely flower arrangement

Asda weren’t good when my cheese turned out to be mouldy. It all started off well when aformentioned cheese was given an incident number, but my overall compensation was worth 75p less than the original cost of the cheese Grin

Still18atheart · 27/03/2019 21:24

Shark vaccume cleaners - the vaccum we ordered didn’t do the trick and they were v halpful in sending it back despite being based in Canada and it was their thanksgiving weekend.
Amazon- Amazon fire stock remote gave up the ghost and they sent a voucher for a replacement which is the newer model

animaginativeusername · 27/03/2019 21:27

Sea salt - just really good. Shocked how helpful they were

Shetlandponyranger · 27/03/2019 21:28

I was very impressed with boohoo.
I bought a bag last summer and used it for the first time at the races, it started falling apart within an hour. I sent photos of it to the Facebook page (PM’d then) when I got home that evening, they replied very quickly apologising and a new bag arrived in the post on the Monday! It has lasted perfectly.

Crunched · 27/03/2019 21:38

I find Next are excellent with their on-line service. I’ve had furniture delivered and assembled in time for Christmas despite my disorganised ordering. All the staff are very pleasant and queries are efficiently handled.
