Just browsing Jo Jo Maman and came across this peculiar item.

What is it for? and why? and does anyone have one? Surely they're just using the baby seat wrong?

ChrisPrattsFace · 25/03/2019 18:46

To prep your baby into being a profession hang glider.
Sorry I have no idea...

In fact reading the info below it says it's good for both

ThatFalseEquivalenceTho · 25/03/2019 18:47

If it had helped DDs colic and reflux in any way I’d have happily paid that Grin

Baby rocket launcher for budding astronauts

SparkleJoy · 25/03/2019 18:48

As PP says it's mainly used for babies who suffer with really bad colic or reflux as it keeps them in a more upright position.

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 25/03/2019 18:48

Even the baby is all wtf.
Grin

pisspawpatrol · 25/03/2019 18:49

Does normal tummy time not have the same effect on colic, reflux and flat head though?

I am utterly bemused by this.

If these had been around when DS was tiny I would probably have bought one in a sleep deprived fit of madness. He was very refluxy and was only comfortable when upright, even when sleeping.

One of these would have meant I could put him down for short periods of time and maybe eat dinner with both hands or just go to the toilet without juggling him in the sling while weeing.

Would have been a better use of my money than the cranial osteopathy that I forked out for (which was utter useless woo bollocks).

SciFiScream · 25/03/2019 18:51

It moves about too I think. That would have really helped me when DD was a baby. I had to keep her head above her tummy for ages after eating. She had (and still has at almost 9) GORD. Her dad and paternal GM have it too.

At least she can tell me when she has hot, burnt hiccups now. Back then all I remember is crying.

I'd have paid that

Training for baby human cannonball?

YouSayRisottoIsayRisotto · 25/03/2019 18:59

Ignorant thread.

Thats Baby Aldrin. The first 6 month old ti fly unaided into the earth's atmosphere.

FlaviaAlbia · 25/03/2019 19:01

That's hilarious, that baby is totally bemused. It looks as though he's about to be launched into space Grin

Rtmhwales · 25/03/2019 19:04

My friend has this for her DS. I laughed at first but it's the only thing that gives her peace from his reflux. He sleeps on it for naps.

BlackPrism · 25/03/2019 19:05

@pisspawpatrol well considering reflux is acid washing back up from the stomach if they push up and down and angle their tummy up from head then that can be an aggressor in normal tummy time, this stops the possibility of that.

britnay · 25/03/2019 19:10

Its £139 just for the cushion, not the bouncer/rocker its attached to in the pics

popcorndiva · 25/03/2019 19:11

actually just saw one on someone's Insta stories. Apparently fab for colic

Starch · 25/03/2019 19:14

To infinidee! And beyond!

To be fair, if these had been around when we had newborns, me and DH would have probably bought it. We paid ££ for a Tummy Tub aka a bucket Hmm These do actually sound like a good idea.

pisspawpatrol · 25/03/2019 19:17

Ok, so it's good for colic or reflux.

It's still a bit odd.

hazeyjane · 25/03/2019 19:21

I think you attach the cushion to any bouncer chair, or use it on its own.

We had a wedge, which had a harness on it to try and get ds on an angle steep enough to help his reflux. I would pay anything to have found something which would help his reflux.

Unfortunately he was completely unable to hold his head up for a very long time when on his front, and would just scream blue murder if 'tummy time' was attempted.

Iwrotethissongfor · 25/03/2019 19:26

It’s just the cushion not a whole device. Well a cushion with batteries for vibrating and heartbeat sounds. It says good for normal tummy time or attached to your bouncer or rocker.

You don’t need a cushion for tummy time surely (and actually it would impede them when they’re still not really getting anywhere but trying to move?) and you'd need to see how it attaches to bouncers to check you’re happy with it. Actually my bouncer had vibration and sound so no need for cushion to have it as well. Wouldn’t be for me.

PCohle · 25/03/2019 19:27

It's £139 just for the cushion, not including the seat/bouncer thing?? Christ on a bike.

I bought a lot of ridiculous shite for my PFB but £139 for a cushion with straps Shock

Iwrotethissongfor · 25/03/2019 19:27

Mine hated TT and only tolerated the bouncer sometimes so imagine this would’ve been her worst nightmare

Palominoo · 25/03/2019 19:30

I just held mine under the arm pits and gently swayed their body back and forth to and from me to relieve trapped wind.

Then I enjoyed cuddling them..

A cushion seems ideal if you are the kind of parent who wants to or needs to put their infant down for health reasons. I was fortunate that I didn't have that problem.
