No, it's not a sex toy for masochists...

KrazyKatlady · 24/03/2019 22:28

I have that peeler and I think its the bomb! DH is insistent that other inferior peelers are equal. THEY ARE NOT!!! they are nasty and take about 45 times as long to peel a potato!

TheBitterBoy · 24/03/2019 22:32

I've also got herb scissors, and agree they are useless, except for chives.

I also love my egg masher, which is also awesome for guacamole. I have had it for years and years though, and I've never seen them in the shops.

Okaaaaaay, Breakfast.
But, what is it ?

DrMadelineMaxwell · 24/03/2019 22:39

This is my favourite.

Peels, cores, slices.

My dd wanted it for Christmas one year. Then went off it, so it lives in my classroom mostly and I when I used it as a demo for a simple process as a prompt for the children to write an explanation paragraph, they were blown away by it.

As were the staff in the staff room when they saw it. An audible 'Ooooooo' was heard.

My pizza scissors. No messing about. Was served pizza in a great pizzeria in Rome where they used these, so if scissors are good enough for the pros, who am I to argue?

Redshoeblueshoe · 24/03/2019 22:40

Redshoeblueshoe · 24/03/2019 22:42

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 24/03/2019 22:46

Tis a thing of beauty

Pantsomime · 24/03/2019 22:48

Egg topper- little hat with a pull up stalk on the top of it- creates a vacuum on the boiled egg & makes crumble free 360 cut through the shell & top lifts off , magic- Lakeland

It's great - you should get one to replace the crappy one. Grin

Sunonthepatio · 24/03/2019 23:06

For anyone lusting after a stand mixer, I finally bought one but my magimix knocks spots off it.

buckeejit · 24/03/2019 23:17

This news could be life changing - so pleased I found you!!!!

RainbowMum11 · 24/03/2019 23:26

I pinched my Grans spiked meat tray after she died because I couldn't find one anywhere at the time, it's an essential & I use it loads!!
bert* I have one of those too - my Gran bought it for me when I was about 10 (she was great at random presents!!), had to replace it last year but use it loads!

Longdistance · 24/03/2019 23:28

We have pickle fork. Dh Aunt got us it for a wedding present. It’s great fishing out olives from a jar.
We also own a vacuum box that keeps bread and cakes fresh. Again, a present from dhs Aunt.
WRT to th jar openers, a little tip... either tap the side of the jar lid against something hard or bash the handle end of a knife on the lid, it enables the release of the vacuum if the jar and makes it easier to open.

Redshoeblueshoe · 24/03/2019 23:51

Now I want a pickle fork. Rainbow I got my spiked meat tray after my DM died.
I also have a tefal sauciere that was my mum's too. It's brilliant, it must be 40 years old. One of my DC has already asked if she can have it when I die Grin

Elven · 24/03/2019 23:52

I love my KitchenAid, it's brilliant. I have lots of attachments and bowls.

burblish · 25/03/2019 09:18

@BreakfastatSquiffanys - I have that garlic crusher too, but hate it! Then DH bought me a Kuhn Rikon stainless steel garlic press for Christmas one year and it is unbelievable - best garlic gadget ever and one of my all-time favourite Christmas presents!

SparkofJoy · 25/03/2019 16:01

I've just spotted this Ceramic Ginger Grater.

Off to Google pickle forks.

Spark i've got one of those, i use it for smooshing garlic, the brush doesn't work though - i scrape the smooshed garlic off with the silicone spoon i am using for stirring. That works really well.
