Best potato peeler ever, I've had mine about 20 years.

OXO good grips Spark? Yes I've got one as well - v good aren't they?

My favourite is the Jar Key which opens jars easily (as the name suggests)

This turns the lime/lemon inside out. I flip them over and squeeze every last bit of juice out.

I agree about the peeler! I used it at another house where I was a "mother's help" and liked it so much it went onto our wedding list. Have been using it for 15 years now.

SparkofJoy · 24/03/2019 16:41

It is Oxo Good Grips. 😁

I also use an Oxo good grips and wouldn’t use anything else now.

My potato peeler is that style, but has s steel handle. DH has it when I met him 22 years ago. I suspect MIL bought in, in which case it will have come from Lakeland or Waitrose. It’s a great little peeler. I’d also like to nominate our Sheffield steel Taylor’s Eye Witness knives, bought as a wedding present 19 years ago, from my PIL, because FIL is from Sheffield.

I love my large ice cube tray. I need a spherical one. I'd also like a button one for making sugar cube things for a tea party I'm never going to have.

I'm off to Google jar keys. I need more gadget ideas.

My user name is because I'm de-cluttering with KonMari. I'm watching Netflix and can't sort my kitchen out. Every single gadget brings me joy so I need to think about how to sort it display them.

I love my Oxo peeler and won't peel potatoes unless I can use it. I can't believe it's still sharp after all of this time.

Ive got a shed load of Oxo stuff. I love the little brush and pan set.

SparkofJoy · 24/03/2019 17:19

It's darling. Jar key looks handy.

I need big guns like a food mixer and a processor but my kitchen is too small. I need a pantry type of thing.

My PILs kitchen has a great pantry that FIL made. I covet it every time we go there. There is even a little hook in there for the dustpan and brush (not sure if it's Oxo or not though!) and everything Envy

Oh, I've found my spiritual home 😍. I love kitchen gadgets.

I put one of those OXO peelers on my Amazon list to remind me I wanted a new potato peeler and forgot to take it off. Someone bought it for me and I felt awful that I hadn't really wanted it.
Then I used it and realised I much preferred it to my old style peeler.

PrivateIsles · 24/03/2019 18:29

Nice pantry photo Spark. I think my ILs' is smaller than that but still great. They also have a "scullery" as they call it - ie a massive sink area for dumping dishes which is sort of divided off from the kitchen, and the pantry is in there . But I have digressed away from gadgets, apologies.

The other thing I want is one of those spiky trays for carving meat, although I haven't bought one as I only ever do roast chicken, and that only about once a month. Does anyone have one and if so, is it good?

MitziK · 24/03/2019 18:36

I had a chopping board with spikes bought for me as a present.

After washing it up absentminedly and staunching the bleeding with the teatowel it went into the bin.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 24/03/2019 18:37

Was it Nigel Slater who had the kitchen cupboard that opened up to reveal all electrical gadgets in place, plugged in ready to go?

Whoever it was, my perfect kitchen has one.... my Chef taking pride of place.

picklemepopcorn · 24/03/2019 18:39

Where is your ice cube tray from, spark?

olderthanyouthink · 24/03/2019 18:39

We have the OXO dust pan and brush, flat mop and broom, love them v nice

I have an Ikea peeler I quite like that's a bit like the OXO one

PrivateIsles · 24/03/2019 18:41

Thanks Mitzi - that sounds v painful. I might give it a swerve.

Smallfacesfan · 24/03/2019 18:43

Just ordered an oxo peeler.

IncrediblySadToo · 24/03/2019 18:45

My Mum bought me a jar opener about 20 years ago, it sat in the drawer looking sad. Until recently. I’m only in my bloody 40’s but I don’t gave the strength in my hands I used to have & the jar opener is fabulous.

My cheese slicer is my number one favourite gadget though.

I can't use that style of peeler because I'm left handed.Sad my Ikea Y peeler however is still going strong after 15 years!
