What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my cup of tea then going to get dressed.

The girls are off to town for a Mother's Day gift with their dad so I have a few hours to myself. I plan to nip to Asda to see if they have the unicorn Smarties Easter egg in stock (never thought to buy it when dd2 saw it & she keeps mentioning it), iron school shirts and make a banana loaf.

Roast chicken for tea later on then some reading with dd2.

What about you lot? Anyone up to anything exciting?

DS has a swimming lesson, then he and I will swim together afterwards.

We're going to buy MIL a birthday present, then lunch, birthday card making, reading and burgers for supper. I'll try to get DS down the park too.

DH is away skiing.

lucysmam · 24/03/2019 10:11

@Mumshappy fingers crossed they have them here; it's only one of the small stores! 🤞

Not a lot. I'm recovering from surgery and dh has a diarrhoea bug that he's had for 2 weeks now, how he's still alive I will never know 🙈

DD's 4&2 are not even dresses yet, and the 3 teenagers are still in bed (lucky bastards) I know I should do something today because the weather is gorgeous but it looks like it's going to be a movie day and maybe a takeaway.

TheLastNigel · 24/03/2019 10:17

Currently in bed with my very elderly
Cat asleep on me. Have got a mild hangover but nowhere near as bad as it should be which is a winner.
Will get up in a bit and go and retrieve car from town, quick Tesco, dog walk, will make a lasagne later for tomorrow's dinner, and then probably watch about ten episodes of Madam Secretary.

itsbritneybiatches · 24/03/2019 10:23

Taking daughter to horse riding then stagecoach dance and drama, then Asda or wherever we pass on the way home to get the stuff for a roast what my DH will make.

Then watching telly whilst I do the ironing upstairs

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 24/03/2019 10:24

Laundry 👎
Food shopping 👎
Relaxing in the garden with a cup of tea whilst listening to some music 👍

Villanellesproudmum · 24/03/2019 10:24

Nothing, daughter revising, will take the dog out later.

BitchQueen90 · 24/03/2019 10:24

We are looking after a relative's dog while they are away on holiday so just been out for a morning walk. Then DS and I will pop to the shops to buy a birthday card for another relative and go to the park for an hour. Then home to get the roast on, take the dog out for another quick walk while the meat cooks. Then I've got washing and ironing to do and help DS practice his spellings.

BillywilliamV 💐 for you. I hope something makes you smile today. I started a thread about the end of the childhood years recently. I find weekend days really hard at the moment as I feel wistful for what was. It it happens to us all at some point so we need to find some positives to move forward and accept that phase has come to an end. Teenage years hard though.

Bluesheep8 · 24/03/2019 10:48

General housework whilst listening to the archers omnibus. Meant to be sorting out some stuff to take to the charity shop. Quick trip to Aldi for a few bits.DP is cutting the lawn for the first time this year. Lazy afternoon watching ugly house to lovely house on catch up, then making Mary berry fish pie for tea at 6pm.

Rockbird · 24/03/2019 10:53

Major clear up and sort out today. DH is off to a meeting later on so I need to crack on. Freezer crap for tea as we're skint! Will put music on and sing along to make it less boring.

ThatFalseEquivalenceTho · 24/03/2019 10:56

Youngest two have had their usual hour long Sunday morning bath and they’re now colouring

Eldest is now in the shower

I’m batch cooking pasta sauce, the house smells amazing and watching Forensic Files Blush

After lunch we’ll do some Easter crafts and I’ll put the laundry away.

That’s about it

Adversecamber22 · 24/03/2019 10:57

Tea in bed till midday.
Frenzied hour of chores
Walk for about an hour
Popping in to a birthday party
Picking up my new car
Getting a Chinese take away
Watching a couple of episodes of rebellion on Netflix.

boredboredboredboredbored · 24/03/2019 11:01

Working a 10 hour shift - I'm a nurse. It's on call though so hoping for a quiet one!

JingsMahBucket · 24/03/2019 11:23

I’m going to see a seamstress for my wedding dress fitting. I’m taking her the fabric and we’ll do measurements.

I think I’m going to meal plan today and cook. My cooking mojo’s been really off lately and I’d like to clear out some food in my fridge. No idea for dinner yet but I’m thinking sausage, peppers and red onion pizza made with flatbread that needs using up.

Cleaning the floors is in order along with clearing some surfaces. I’ll also do some wedding tasks like revise the order of events and do table places.

Iamblossom · 24/03/2019 11:44

Have very slowly done some housework as have broken ribs and collar bone. Ds1 has just got up. DH has taken ds2 to his Stagecoach performance prep session and then walked dogs, and we are going to watch his show at 12.30 followed by a pub visit.

Home to chill after as will be in pain throughout.

lucysmam · 24/03/2019 12:13

I got the egg but I have managed to drop it and break the egg and slightly damage the bloomin' box stashing it away from small eyes so I'm either off back for a non-broken one (and hiding the evidence of having eaten this one), or I'm off back to Asda on Tuesday morning and hoping they still have some.

bloody numpty

OP posts:
lucysmam · 24/03/2019 12:13

Ooh, or I could swapsie my egg. But then she might notice the box is open.

Packed up our lovely north yorkshire cottage for last time Sad we don't use it enough to justify the cost but I am sad.

Going to do some lunch in a few for me and DS. Hopefully he will have a nap and wake up refreshed for a little party later with NCT friends.

Just general washing, tidying, usual jobs inbetween!

Aebj · 24/03/2019 12:27

Ds 1 came home from Venture Scout camp this morning. Ds2 and I popped to get more milk and bread ( how can they eat so bloody much😂) . Then ds1 and I worked this afternoon. We work in the same place so handy for me taking him!! We are in Australia hence what we did rather than doing!!
Also saying a little pray for north WA and the cyclone

gingajewel · 24/03/2019 12:33

I got up and went to aldi, did the hoovering and ironing and prepped the Sunday roast ready to put on later.
Oh is building a shed so he has been outside since 8.30 and the children have too! I have only seen them to give them lunch! So now all my chores are done I am enjoying the quiet and plan to read my book.
Later on I need to bath the girls and cook dinner and sort out tomorrow’s uniform and nursery clothes for the children.
Lazy sundays are the best!!

anothermansmother · 24/03/2019 12:39

I've dropped my dd at a party, came home and put undercoat on my sideboard ( it was looking tatty) and in half an hour I can add the paint colour.
In between I nee to get the washing finished and hoover and mop through.
My ds is cleaning his room, which seems to be never ending.
Once I've picked up dd at 4 ( after 6 hours of partying) we'll go for a dog walk.
Then once they're both in bed tonight I have 2 sets of mock exam papers to mark and need to get the ironing done.
I'm very jealous of those who are off to gamers markets and other fun stuff, hopefully next weekend will be less full of housework!

Slazengerbag · 24/03/2019 13:15

We have a really busy week with overtime, appointments and so on. I’ve been up the allotment for a few hours to have a tidy up (it’s glorious here), done the food shop and now I’m prepping everything for the week ahead. Dh and the children have gone to watch a local sports match and I’m just pottering. He offered to stay and help but I would rather have an afternoon to myself Blush

We have an easy dinner of roast chicken, new potatoes and salad so that won’t take 5 minutes prep and I think I may bake a cake. I’m just about to set the ironing board up and will iron the uniforms and work clothes whilst I catch up on the programmes I’ve missed this week.

The dogs need walking but I’ve had a shower and put clean pyjamas on so I will leave that to Dh later.

PH03b3 · 24/03/2019 13:19

Off for a wonder round town later i want to get my 10,000 steps minimum today hopefully 20,000 as i know tomorrow i won't be doing much due to a long work shift.

Crunchymum · 24/03/2019 13:31

4yo has had a grim sickness bug (came on late Friday night) and although the hourly puking has stopped, she's still rather unwell.

I left kids with DP and went for some supplies (and a quick coffee!) And now 6yo, 1yo and DP have gone to meet cousins in the park and we're going to watch a movie.

I've managed to batch cook a few things, do all the ironing and sort out some washing so I'm going to actually sit down for an hour. Looking after poorly kids is hard.
