Calling all People who live in Wales - Help please *title edited as per OP's request*

As some of you know ,tragically my beautiful young daughter died suddenly & unexpectedly during the night 1/9/17 from an undiagnosed heart condition (SADS)

I have tried to raise awareness & we've already had a screening day in her memory, but the amount of children & youngsters losing their lives to these hidden conditions is so high (& thought to be higher than documented) I believe much more should be done.

Would any of you please be willing sign this petition?
The deadline is tomorrow & we are a bit short !

TIA !

Another mum who is not welsh but living in Wales, my son is welsh. Signed. 😊

As a side I noticed the first page it took me to said the petition was for 8-35 year olds to be screened but the the next screen said 10-35, wasn't sure which was right but any screening in younger age would be a good start.

@mummabubs I agree !
The screening age for these conditions now can start at 13/14 because for younger children there needs to be a specialist paediatric cardiologist available.

Most screening days were for 17/18 up to 35 because it also costs a lot more to screen younger children .
But,over the months since my daughter died I've spoken with mums whose children died as young as aged 4 Sad also mums who's children collapsed and died whilst doing PE at school or whilst playing out with friends.
This is what caused me to speak with Welsh hearts & ask for the screening day to include younger children too.

IMO no child should slip through the net & the screening day was fully booked which meant more are now held for a lower age range Smile
But it makes me cross that parents have to pay for them ,so many cant afford it !!
It should be free ,and the initial ECG is such a simple thing !

Ive also been told that heart has to be developed enough to show the defect.
and that with some conditions ,the symptoms only show around or after puberty .

It was described to me as an umbrella ,if your child has died from SADS it's a blanket term that can mean many things .

Watcher, firstly sorry to hear about your daughter Thanks
I've signed the petition.
I took my DD to the doctor back in October with some symptoms that suggested a problem with her heart, the doctor, after listening to her heart, agreed that she should be seen by a cardiologist. I had the appointment through for July, that's 9 months wait for a 13 year old. I am back to the doctor next week as she has developed more symptoms, so hopefully I can get her seen more quickly.
