As some of you know ,tragically my beautiful young daughter died suddenly & unexpectedly during the night 1/9/17 from an undiagnosed heart condition (SADS)

I have tried to raise awareness & we've already had a screening day in her memory, but the amount of children & youngsters losing their lives to these hidden conditions is so high (& thought to be higher than documented) I believe much more should be done.

Would any of you please be willing sign this petition?
The deadline is tomorrow & we are a bit short !

TIA !

Such a worthy petition. So sorry for your loss. Horrendous. My son had a hole in heart diagnosed age 6 and it was closed successfully a month later. Dread to think what could have happened if it had been left longer. I am a strong believer in a quick test for all babies. We suffered 6 years of him being frequently ill with no diagnosis. Doctors put it down to asthma and during all his many hospital stays and ambulance dashes (bronchitis, chest infections, breathing difficulties), NOT ONCE did the hospitals think to check his heart. Checked everything else, x rays etc. Anyway, in the end we were lucky that a paediatrician we saw for something else heard a murmur. (His heart had been listened to umpteen times before by umpteen HCPs). I wish ECGs and Echos were more commonplace for our kids. Good luck OP, and so so sorry again for your loss xx

So sorry to hear about your daughter.

It's so scary that so many are affected by heart conditions. I have always been quite sporty and kept myself fit. Last year, during my pregnancy, a midwife thought my pulse sounded a little bit funny and sent me around to A&E. I'm so grateful to her as it turned out I had an undiagnosed heart condition. Thanks to her, my baby was delivered safely and I'm now having treatment. It could have been so different.

Signed Flowers I'm so sorry for your loss Watcher

You are all so brilliant !!!
Thank you all so much ,I'm sure the target will be reached Smile
And I have to say ,I am so pleased hearing from those of you who've been diagnosed & treated ,because I know the alternative.
I hope in future there will be many more people who'll be able to say that they or their child survived ,either because of screening or having a defib close enough when it's needed♥️

Signed. I’m so sorry for your loss, OP.

If you or your family need support, there is a charity called 2wishuponastar that helps families in Wales who have lost a child or young person. Just in case you weren’t aware of them xx

Again I want to thank you all & please ,if you can ,share this petition because it will also raise awareness of these conditions.
So many people have no knowledge of them at all until the worst has already happened.

Thank you also for mentioning 2Wish @WYP2018 ,my Ds who has ASD was just 10 when DD died ,he was here when we found her .
He is still traumatised but is doing a lot better thanks to the play therapist organised by 2Wish .
I was literally begging everywhere for help for him & they provided 12 sessions.
I don't know where we'd be if they hadn't helped .
