What brand is to socks as M&S is to knickers?

Who can point me to the perfect everyday plain black sock in size 9-14ish?

Fed up of pairing socks in the wash so am going to buy lots of plain black pairs which are exactly the same.

So they have to be durable and good value.

Where can I find such a fine set of socks?

I love the Happy Socks as well great designs, and at the moment have found loads in TKmaxx really good prices.

All the bamboo ones (different brands) have not lasted long and worn on the heels and near the toes. Found the same with the Pringle ones which lost the colours after only a few washes

I had bamboo ones from TK Maxx but they didn't last. M&S ones strange fit. Next time I have a clear out I will go to Next.
The men/boys in the house swear by Pringle but I haven't tried the ladies ones.
