Do you take the bottles of shampoo from hotels?

Staying in a hotel that has great amenities, that are actually really expensive as a brand. Obviously I “use” a whole mini bottle of shampoo and conditioner every day... aka it goes in the suitcase. I can’t be the only one?

Always. And all the tea/coffee/milk too. Ive paid for them.

CoperCabana · 16/03/2019 09:30

Think of all those little bits of plastic that will be in the world forever. I always leave them to (presumably) be refilled.

CoperCabana · 16/03/2019 09:32

Or at least leave them for the next person who might need them if they have forgotten theirs. Hate grabby people just taking stuff for the sake of it and often never using them!

No, because I can't afford to stay in the kind of place that has stuff I would want to use. I take my own shampoo and conditioner and use that instead.

PetsFactor · 16/03/2019 09:38

No, unless it’s a luxury known brand I wouldn’t even touch it during my stay, it’s botmally horrid and practically strips your hair of oils

PetsFactor · 16/03/2019 09:38

*normally

notapizzaeater · 16/03/2019 09:42

I take the shampoos and stuff and donate them to our local food bank (unless it's something posh then I use it)

I also take the coffee sachets, always good to keep in my bag when out.

I wouldn't dream of taking towels etc - that's stealing !

My ex mil used to take sugar sachets wherever we where and open them at home and top up her sugar bag

Todamhottoday · 16/03/2019 09:43

I travel a lot and always take the toiletries as well as the toothpaste/brush sets and other items that are useful.

The once I have a stash I drop them off at the Womens Refuge and they are always very welcome. Its good to know those women who arrive with next to nothing have their own toiletries.

No I dont feel guilty taking them Im quite sure those items are factored in the room rate.

spritesandunicorns · 16/03/2019 09:52

I used to take them but ended up with loads of the things as we travel quite a bit and everywhere you go supplies them so you never actually get the opportunity to re-use them!

I have started taking them when we go swimming to wash dc hair.

If we stay somewhere with posh products I’ll take them but not the bog standard ones anymore!

TapasForTwo · 16/03/2019 09:58

I'm going to start taking them now to donate to people who need them. TBH it never occurred to me that I could do that. Thank you for that idea.

safariboot · 16/03/2019 10:06

I'll take what's left at the end of my stay. I think clearing it out every day, when the bottles would do two or three uses, is CFery.

Sparklingbrook · 16/03/2019 10:11

I only take with me the ones I have opened.

Confused at giving them to your Mum for Mothers Day.

soulrunner · 16/03/2019 10:43

No. I do use it as usually travel hand luggage only but don’t bother taking the extras

Hollowvictory · 16/03/2019 10:46

No. Shampoo and conditioner is inexpensive I cba to take lots of mini bottles from a hotel. Do t really want my shower at home full of mini bottles. But if I didn't stay in hotels very often I may feel differently.

Yes I take what I can

pinegreen · 16/03/2019 11:26

I don’t but I do take my half used shower gel and body moisturiser mini bottles home at the end of the stay, because they’ll be thrown out otherwise, which is a waste.

I did once fill up a couple of empty travel bottles I had in my hand luggage with the Aesop geranium body wash they had (in large dispensers) in the showers in the Cathay lounge in Hong Kong!

boxlikeamarchhare · 16/03/2019 11:30

No I don’t. I like my own shampoo which suits my hair so I take a small refillable bottle whenever I travel.

I did take the small Hermes soaps in a travel container from a swanky Paris hotel many years ago and still use the container 20 odd years on!
