Doesn’t sound like the most adventurous shopper does it?
Very pedestrian basic foodstuffs and household essentials.
They may take the exotic leap to chilli, but are not entirely sure if they’re brave enough!

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 07/03/2019 11:25

I like 'meals' Grin I sometimes get frustrated writing a shopping list and just write 'dinners' and let DH work out the details!

PassTheGinPlease · 07/03/2019 11:27

Is it a Northerner?
I only know of Northerner's using the term "Pop"

IamFrauBlucher · 07/03/2019 11:29

Welsh people use the word pop too!

Nesssie · 07/03/2019 11:31

meals Grin someone ran out of ideas!

PassTheGinPlease · 07/03/2019 11:32

@IAmFrauBlucher ah I shall add that to my local terms list then.

Malibucyprus · 07/03/2019 11:33

West Midlands here, we say pop. Not even sure why, was talking about this at work a few weeks ago, and wondered where pop came from?

twistable · 07/03/2019 11:37

I reckon meals is "ready meals"

LittleMissCantbebothered · 07/03/2019 11:39

South coast here, and we say 'pop'.

LancsPear · 07/03/2019 11:49

Berkshire here, parents call it pop.

LovingTheDerryGirls · 07/03/2019 11:50

I found one too, in a Waitrose trolley.

I found a shopping list!
MrsEricBana · 07/03/2019 11:52

I love it! X, Y, Z, oh and "meals". What about a one word list "Stuff"

AliceAforethought · 07/03/2019 11:55

Ah, the Waitrose shopper is clearly as lacking in ideas as the OP’s shopper. “Dinner” maybe they hope that walking round the store will provide the necessary inspiration.

I also felt a bit sorry for them with their blocked nose and blocked sink!

MrsTommyBanks · 07/03/2019 11:56

I wonder if the sink unblocked is a back up in case the nose spray doesn't work.

HankNPat · 07/03/2019 11:58

First one's a bit uninspiring Grin

Waitrose one, I wonder what the squiggle under Choc Ices means?

" ... and wondered where pop came from?" Fizzy pop, I expect.

jcmayj · 07/03/2019 12:01

@HankNPat looks like it says "Irish" under choc ices

30birthdayholiday · 07/03/2019 12:02

Think it maybe says fish?

HankNPat · 07/03/2019 12:03

Oh, Irish what though?!!!

twistable · 07/03/2019 12:03

Fish

yearinyearout · 07/03/2019 12:04

West midlanders use the word "pop" too

CountFosco · 07/03/2019 12:08

I like the Waitrose one, can just imagine them thinking 'oh I need something to unblock my bloody nose, oh, that reminds me... sink unblocker.

I'm another that writes 'dinner for Tues' and then get annoyed with DH because I write the day so he thinks about the kids activities that day and chooses a meal that can fit round the tooing and throughing.

crunchie12 · 07/03/2019 12:12

I found this one in Sainsbury's. Waitrose clearly more sophisticated Grin

OP posts:
crunchie12 · 07/03/2019 12:13

And that Waitrose list has reminded me I forgot shower unblocker and breadsticks Sad

I write "dinner meat" or just "meat" and "lunch stuff" on my list because I know in my head what meat/lunch foods I want to get. Don't think there's anything wrong with writing "dinners" or "meals". Surely you don't need to write everything in minute detail if it's in your head anyway?

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 07/03/2019 12:22

They should try chilli jam. That'd give their oh/dc a shock when they bit in to the lovingly prepared packed lunch wouldn't it? Grin not that I've ever done that to my dh
