no judgement yet over pre-grated cheese? you vipers are losing your touch

purpleleotard · 07/03/2019 12:33

surely 'Pop' means champagne.

NuclearReactor · 07/03/2019 13:05

Chilli?

They hadn't made their mind up on the spice yet 🌶

MrsEricBana · 07/03/2019 13:13

Did you know pre-grated cheddar costs the same per kilo as block cheddar in Sainsbury's? Just saying.

LondonBelongsToMe · 07/03/2019 13:26

but it also goes hard and horrid far more quickly, and is in any event The Sign of The Slattern round here

MrsEricBana · 07/03/2019 22:13

Can't say I've ever bought it but have make a special trip tomorrow (in my PJs of course)

GlitterPixie · 07/03/2019 22:24

And no Naice Ham Grin

isseywithcats · 07/03/2019 23:13

the term pop for fizzy soft drinks comes from when lemonade bottles used to have marbles in the top to seal them when tipped up the marble used to pop into the bottle

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/03/2019 23:45

I do a lesson with my pupils where I give them a shopping list and they have to make up a story about the person.

OP's list is a woman who has recently broken up from her dp

Pieceofpurplesky · 07/03/2019 23:46

Oops
Recently broken up from her dp. She has her 7 year old niece coming over so has had to drag herself to the supermarket to get some basics in.
She hasn't bought wine because she is scared once she starts she won't stop.

tinatsarina · 08/03/2019 00:20

My OH thinks first list is an elderly lady and second is a guy who lives with his dog.

GlitterGlassEye · 08/03/2019 00:28

Gratec cheese is covered in that floury shit to keep from sticking. It’s ok for cooking and melting but eating otherwise NAH. Just saying

DontCallMeShitley · 08/03/2019 00:29

I was asked by a teenager/student once for a can of pop as I was going into a chip shop in Bournemouth. I assumed it was to do with drug taking, isn't it a thing to drink pop with something?

I always leave my shopping lists for someone to find.

SlipperOrchid · 08/03/2019 00:34

I don't know many people anyone who uses the word pop for drinks. Did Enid Blyton use it along with her ginger beer?

I think 'meals' is ready meals too. Its seems like a list of convenience foods rather than ingredients which reinforces the ready meals idea.

Pieceofpurplesky · 08/03/2019 18:58

My mum drinks pop

YogaWannabe · 08/03/2019 18:59

Me and DD collect shopping lists we find!

We found one once with all the usual bits (milk, bread) and “something nice”
I don’t know why I found that so lovely Confused

IndieTara · 08/03/2019 19:01

In Bham we say pop

EastMidsGPs · 09/03/2019 11:06

Early morning visit to Tesco yielded this little beauty. Couldn't wait to get home and share Smile
Interesting system, starts alphabetically and then goes haywire.
Like the carrots with fringes and the specified little on some items.

Distinctive handwriting, wonder if they are creative or a teacher?

I found a shopping list!
ForalltheSaints · 09/03/2019 11:12

Hope the cat is not going hungry.

LovingTheDerryGirls · 09/03/2019 11:20

Intrigued to know what the Portuguese thing is

Snog · 09/03/2019 11:51

Portuguese thing - sherry?

AngelOfDeathNix · 09/03/2019 12:06

Portuguese thing......those delicious little custard tarts

RickOShay · 09/03/2019 12:07

Those little pastry egg custards?

iklboo · 09/03/2019 12:21

This is why I do my shopping list on my phone Grin

I use family slang / colloquiums so you'd think I was barmy if you saw it written down.

fourquenelles · 09/03/2019 12:24

Anyone else open this thread just to check that it's not one of their lists?

I abandon mine in the trolley occasionally in the hope that one day....................................................
