Just been asked on another thread about music and came to think of this one. Guess it is fairly unknown because it is Danish, but I think it is fantastic 😀.

Do you have any you want to share?

The Birthday Massacre are great - don't let the name put you off. Fairly unknown band from Canada.

The music is kinda new wave/gothic rock with a lot of 80s influence. Some of their music sounds like it could be from an 80s high school movie.

Try 'Weekend', 'Oceania' and 'One'. 'Holiday' is also a fave.

For something a bit darker 'Happy Birthday' and 'Divide' are worth a listen.

Honestly I'm a hardcore fan and love most of their songs and I truly think they'd be popular if they were given more exposure Grin Sorry for the long post!

William McCarthy. I ❤️ him.

watching this with interest!

An outfit called Sadie and the Hotheads led by Elizabeth McGovern of Downton Abbey. The songs are her own and she writes from her perspective of a 50 something woman which is a rare thing. So many of her songs hit a nerve with me and her voice and the music is quirky and interesting.

Hannah Fury. She's enchanting, and has a Wizard of Oz concept album.

My latest discovery: Kongos

Truly amazing music!

Some months ago I stumbled across Townes Van Zandt in a newspaper article about "the best albums you've never heard of". I liked the sound of his name so I checked him out on YouTube. This is the first song of his I ever heard - Waiting Around to Die:

I love it!! Other great songs of his are: Nothin', I'll be there in the morning, Lungs, Flyin' shoes, To live's to fly... there are loads.

Electric Swing Circus. Hard to pick a favourite but maybe Renegade Soundwave

Chaka Khan - Like Sugar

Just love this. I don’t know why, it’s so catchy.

Sadik · 04/03/2019 21:23

And the Cadbury Sisters - amazing close harmony singing. I don't think they're so good on CD but if you get a chance to see them live, go.

I could listen to this all day.
